He Gave His Password To Her And Lost His Future Chapter 03

By the time I got there, everyone was already seated.

The private room had been booked based on headcount, seat assignments and all. But Julian had brought Hazel, which meant one extra person and one missing chair.

So I ended up standing awkwardly by the door.

“Go grab a chair and squeeze in with me,” Julian said lazily, nudging his seat to the side.

I carried over a chair without even looking at him and sat in the empty spot Serena Sterling, our cheer captain, had saved for me instead.

Someone else flagged down a waiter to bring me another set of utensils.

Julian let out a quiet scoff.

“I probably shouldn’t have come,” Hazel said with a smile that looked more offended than apologetic.

“Well, yeah. You shouldn’t have,” someone shot back immediately. “This is our senior party. Why is someone from another school even here?”

Hazel’s face flushed red, then pale. Her rhinestone-covered nails tapped nervously against the edge of the table as she looked helplessly at Julian.

Julian set down his drink and lifted his eyes, his expression turning cold.

“Can we eat one meal without starting drama?”

Serena quickly jumped in and changed the subject.

A few rounds of drinks later, the room got louder. Someone suggested Truth or Dare, and instantly everyone started yelling over each other.

The bottle spun.

It landed on me.

“Question!” someone shouted. “Are you planning to confess to your crush?”

The room immediately got excited.

Everyone knew I liked Julian. Or at least, they thought they did.

Serena grinned like she’d been waiting for this moment all night. She grabbed my wrist and pulled me to my feet.

“If you are, then do it right now!”

For the first time that night, Julian finally looked up at me.

I pressed my lips together and stayed silent for a long moment.

“Confess! Confess!”

“Come on, Vivienne!”

“Julian, get over here already!”

Julian rested his chin against one hand, watching the chaos unfold like it was entertainment. He made no move to stop them.

Until the girl beside him snapped.

“I’m leaving!” Hazel shot to her feet.

Julian wrapped an arm around her waist and tugged her back down. She stumbled straight into his lap.

The room fell dead silent.

“My girlfriend’s right here,” he said casually. “Quit messing around. She gets jealous, and trust me, she’s hard to calm down.”

The looks that hit me all at once were unbearable. Shock. Sympathy. Awkward pity.

Like a tidal wave crashing straight into me.

Julian sighed helplessly. “Vivienne, sorry. I honestly didn’t know you were…”

I cut him off calmly.

“I’m not desperate enough to date within the friend group. And who said I even have a crush?”
