He Gambled Away Our Bonding Ceremony and Now He’s Begging for It Back Chapter 05

Aldric’s smile froze.

“What unauthorized? That was our joint account.”

I held up the bank statements and venue contract.

“The account is in my name. Every dollar in it was mine.”

“You took my password while I was sleeping. Impersonated me to confirm payment with the venue.”

“Surveillance footage, transfer records, chat logs. I’ve turned everything over.”

He was the future pack Alpha. But we lived among humans. Werewolves had to follow human laws too.

The officer secured his wrists.

Aldric finally looked rattled.

“Iris. Weren’t you here to register?”

I looked at him and smiled.

“No. I came to send you to the station.”

They led him to the car. He still turned back and gave orders.

“Iris. Stop now and I’ll pretend this never happened. You don’t want my parents and the pack members

coming after you.”

I didn’t answer.

The car door closed. The certainty on his face finally cracked.

At the station, he still insisted the money was shared.

“She’s my fiancée. Money goes in a shared account. That means it’s meant to be spent.”

The officer flipped through the statements.

“You have no legal marriage. No civil registration.”

“The account is in Iris’s name alone. All deposits came from her salary and investments.”

“She never gave you her payment password. She never authorized you to confirm a 680,000 payment on her

behalf.”

Aldric went quiet.

Probably never occurred to him that six years of dating didn’t mean he could just take everything I had.

Half an hour later, his parents and Bianca rushed in.

Mrs. Whitmore headed straight for me.

“Iris. Aldric already agreed to marry you. And you call the police on him?”

“A couple shares money. That’s not theft.”

I kept my voice calm.

“We’re not married. The daughter-in-law you actually want is standing right behind you.”

Mrs. Whitmore’s face stiffened.

Bianca looked at me with wounded eyes.

“Iris. I can give the ring back. Just let Aldric go. Please.”

Mr. Whitmore stepped in.

“The money. We can repay you. Just call it a misunderstanding. Don’t leave him with a record.”

He pulled out his checkbook. Same superiority as always.

“Beyond the 680,000, I’ll add another 200,000. For your troubles today.”

My father moved in front of me.

“The money was hers in the first place. You’re paying her back with her own money. And you call that

compensation?”

Mr. Whitmore’s expression darkened.

Mrs. Whitmore laughed coldly.

“Over 800,000. You couldn’t earn that in a lifetime. Don’t be greedy.”

My mother’s lips trembled with anger.

“Who says my daughter can’t earn that? She’s a well-known designer.”

I squeezed her hand and handed the venue’s evidence directly to the police.

Bank records. A forged payment confirmation. My signature, carefully imitated. But the final stroke, a

habitual little hook, belonged to Aldric.

And the hallway footage from the venue.

One month ago. Aldric and Bianca changing the contract. Bride’s name swapped to Bianca.

The coordinator asked if they needed my confirmation. Aldric said, “No need. She listens to me.”

Bianca went pale.

The officer turned to her.

“Bianca. We’ll need your cooperation as well.”

“I didn’t know it was her money. Aldric handled everything. The contract. The payment. All him.”

Aldric’s head snapped up.

“Bianca. You’re the one who wanted the wedding.”
