He Chose Her, So I Refused to Become His Luna Chapter 07

Benjamin personally takes Jasmine to the Pack court to face the Elders‘ judgment.

The forgiveness agreement can reduce the consequences she faces, but it can’t turn deliberate harm into an ordinary accident.

Even as Jasmine is taken away, she keeps calling Nathan.

He doesn’t answer the first call.

On the second, she sends him a voice message through tears.

“You promised my brother you would take care of me for the rest of my life.”

After listening to it, Nathan blocks her number.

But he doesn’t feel relieved.

Because I’ll never know.

And because a choice made too late can never erase the moment he chose to turn away from me.

After that, the four men begin desperately searching for me.

They go to my parents‘ Pack, Ironhowl Pack, but find the Alpha House doors firmly shut. The Pack members

tell them the house has been left in the care of the Beta.

They contact my former coworkers as well.

No one knows where I’ve gone.

Two weeks later, my parents‘ attorney, Ms. Hunter, arrives at the Alpha House in Everwood.

She brings a property settlement agreement.

Although the house is registered under Nathan’s name, I paid part of the down payment and some of the

renovation costs.

I don’t ask for a share of the house.

I only ask for the money that belongs to me according to the payment records.

Ms. Hunter places a cardboard box in the middle of the living room.

“Rebecca asked me to return this to you.”

There are no valuables inside.

Everything is something they left behind with me over the years.

William’s wrist guards, which he forgot in my car.

A spare key to Henry’s house.

And the pair of ruby earrings Nathan’s mother, Luna Lily, gave me years ago.

Everything is carefully sorted and packed.

There’s no letter.

Not even a single word of goodbye.

Nathan searches through the entire box.

At the very bottom, he finds only a wedding itinerary.

Months ago, I had filled the pages with handwritten notes.

How to arrange the guests‘ seating.

Which dishes the four elders couldn’t eat.

William couldn’t hold his liquor, so no one was supposed to let him drink too much or make him handle all

the toasts.

Marcus had a sensitive stomach, so there needed to be milk at the table.

Henry hated crowds, so no one should force him onto the stage.

I had even planned how to take care of the four of them on the day of the Bonding Ceremony.

I had thought of everything. Except one thing.

I never imagined they would leave me alone at the Pack hospital for Jasmine.

Nathan looks up at Ms. Hunter, “How is Rebecca doing?”

“That’s Rebecca’s private medical information.”

“When is she coming back?”

“She didn’t say.”

Ms. Hunter pauses before continuing.

“She only asked me to tell Alpha Nathan that once the refund reaches her account, there will be nothing else

left between you that needs to be handled.”

Nathan follows her all the way to the door.

“Does she really consider ten years of love something that can simply be settled and closed out?”

Ms. Hunter doesn’t answer.

Three days later is the date of the Bonding Ceremony.

The Pack Elders call Nathan to confirm the cancellations and venue arrangements.

He goes to the Pack Hall alone.

Just a few months ago, the place was filled with flowers and moonstone decorations.

Now, only empty tables and chairs remain.

The staff are taking down the wedding backdrop.

Even our initials are still visible on it.

Elder Ken, who handled the decorations, walks over with a checklist.

“Rebecca canceled everything. Even the gifts she prepared for the four groomsmen have been returned.”

William, Marcus, and Henry arrive shortly afterward.

No one says a word.

A few months ago, they were still arguing over who would stand closest to me.

Nathan had laughed and told them, “I’m marrying Becca. The three of you better not steal the spotlight.”

William had replied, “We’ve watched her grow up all these years. Of course we’re going to be there to watch her get married.”

But on the day they were supposed to watch me become Nathan’s Luna, all four of them are here.

Only the bride is gone.

Nathan sits alone in front of the empty stage.

He stays there until nightfall. Then his phone suddenly rings.

He answers almost immediately.

But it isn’t me.

It’s the Pack hospital’s billing department,

“Am I speaking with one of Rebecca Campbell’s emergency contacts?”

“There’s a refund from her previous hospitalization that still needs to be processed. Please ask her to contact us.”

Nathan’s fingers slowly tighten around his phone.

“Where is she now?”

The employee is silent for a moment.

“The patient didn’t leave any family information during her stay.”

Then the employee adds,

“However, she said something before she was transferred.”

There’s a brief pause.

“If we can’t reach her, the refund can be sent back to the original payment method.”

“She said she doesn’t want to come back for anything ever again.”
