My parents tore into me.

They threatened that if I dared skip the wedding, they would have me locked away in a psychiatric hospital for the rest of my life.

It was my best friend, Chloe Parker.

Nathan frowned. “Why?”

Chloe looked furious in that disappointed, fed-up way only a close friend could. “She called me at three in the morning, begging me to help her run out on the wedding. When I said no, she immediately bought a plane ticket out of the country.”

“You haven’t seen her Instagram yet, have you? We’ve all been losing our minds looking for her, and she’s off vacationing in Cabo.”

She pulled out her phone and opened my feed.

I drifted closer to look too.
