He Abandoned Our Wedding, I Destroyed His Life Chapter 14

The next day at work, the receptionist gave me a knowing smile.

“Adriana, have you got a secret admirer?”

I had no idea what she was talking about.

She pulled a massive bouquet of flowers from under the counter. Next to it sat a cup of ginger tea.

“A man dropped these off first thing this morning. Said you needed something warm to drink these days.”

“And he said the flowers were to brighten your day.”

I ignored them and picked up the card.

“Adriana, from now on, I’ll send you a bouquet every day.”

Of course. It was Matteo.

The gesture made my stomach turn. I looked at the receptionist.

“Throw them out. I don’t accept anything from him.”

The receptionist’s eyes widened, but she quickly whisked the flowers away.

But Matteo, apparently oblivious, kept sending them. Every day, rain or shine, a new bouquet arrived.

Soon, the entire office was buzzing with gossip about my supposed suitor.

Younger associates kept stopping by my desk, trying to get the details.

I brushed them all off.

The receptionist was at her wit’s end. I finally told her that if she saw Matteo again, she had my permission to throw the flowers in his face and tell him to get lost.
