Fled Believing She Was Scorned, Crowned as Everyone’s Only Love Chapter 11

I always thought Declan was a cold person.

As it turned out-

That might have been the biggest misunderstanding I ever had about this man.

A month after we got together, he was about to take his medication again.

I snatched the pills away.

Then I leaned in and kissed him.

His Adam’s apple bobbed. “Romy, you sure about this?”

I nodded fiercely. “Of course. I’ll be your antidote.”

The next second, a pair of hands with sharply defined knuckles gripped my waist.

So hard my sides went numb.

I yelped and was yanked onto the bed.

My back hit his chest hard.

His lips pressed against the back of my neck, his breath hot and urgent. “Good. Then let me see how well my new medicine works.”

It wasn’t until the early hours of the morning that I realized how wrong I’d been.

Declan had spent three years in the military and kept up intense physical training after retiring. He was a whole size bigger than me.

I was sobbing so hard I couldn’t even see the ceiling.

I could only see his broad shoulders and the deep love in his eyes.

When I woke up, it was already afternoon.

Sunlight poured through the window.

My voice was hoarse. My whole body felt like it had been taken apart and put back together, every muscle aching.

A large hand pressed against my cheek, the fingertips rough, calloused from guns.

“You’re awake?”

Declan was shirtless.

His tan muscles were sleek, his eight-pack neatly defined, two deep V-lines disappearing into his pants.

He pulled me into his arms and gently rubbed my waist, looking utterly satisfied. “Does anywhere hurt?”

My cheeks burned. I took a deep breath. “Declan, maybe you should just go take your medicine!!”

He lowered his head, lips against my forehead, and let out a soft laugh.

The vibration of his chest traveled through me.

He said,

“No. You said it.”

“You’re my antidote.”

Was it too late to take that back?
