Five Years a Secret, Now I Deny We Ever Met Chapter 15

“Chloe!”

Whether from despair or pure rage, Sebastian’s body shook like a leaf in the wind.

Our argument had finally alerted the entire floor. The dorm administrator, a conscientious graduate student, knocked on the door, a campus police officer at her side.

“We received a noise complaint.” The administrator saw the chaos in the room, especially Sebastian’s face, contorted with fury, and immediately became wary. “Sir, whatever happened, please calm down. You’re disturbing the entire building.”

The campus officer’s gaze fell on him, carrying a weight that allowed no refusal.

“I don’t fucking care!”

As if deciding to burn everything to the ground, Sebastian suddenly stepped forward and clamped his hand on my wrist. “Chloe, you’re my girlfriend! I only care about you! Just say the word, and I’ll cancel the engagement tomorrow. I’ll walk away from everything!”

“What is this nonsense?”

A stern rebuke came from the doorway, carrying more authority than the officer’s presence.

Professor Albright, who lived in the neighboring faculty housing, had clearly been drawn over by the disturbance.

He rushed in and shoved Sebastian away with surprising force.

“Mr. Kingsley! Do you have any idea what you’re doing? If this is recorded, how is Chloe supposed to hold her head up in academia? Are you trying to ruin her?”

The professor had always considered me his proudest student.

“And what do you mean, Chloe is your girlfriend? Your fiancée is Isabella Landon!”

“No!” Sebastian’s eyes were full of pleading. He looked at Professor Albright like a child clutching a last-ditch hope. “Professor, I’m the one who’s been her boyfriend for five years. I’m the bastard. I kept using family pressure as an excuse, refusing to make our relationship public…”

Before he could finish, Professor Albright’s expression changed.

His cold gaze was like an invisible slap across Sebastian’s face.

The old professor’s usual gentle, scholarly demeanor vanished. His eyes were full of anger at being deceived and deep concern for the school’s reputation.

He was trembling.

“Sebastian,” he said, his voice like ice. “Your ‘family responsibility’ is at the estate. Your fiancée is waiting for you. Go back and fulfill your duty.”

“Professor…”

“Get out of this dormitory!”
