I hung up, nausea churning in my stomach.

I’d loved this man devotedly for six years, yet he turned out to be such a despicable person.

I opened my phone and saved the recording I’d captured. Once I confirmed the audio was audible and

complete, I called the police non–emergency line without hesitation.

“Hello, I’d like to file a report about extortion and threats of non–consensual image sharing.”

The dispatcher asked for details and instructed me to preserve all evidence.

After ending the call, I compiled the audio recording and screenshots of his threatening texts.

Philip was still completely unaware. Thirty minutes later, another text arrived.

[Selena barricaded herself on the rooftop. I don’t have time to wait around.]

[You have five minutes. If you don’t do as I say, I send the photos to the company group chat for every coworker to see.]

I texted back: [Don’t bother waiting. I’ve already contacted the police.]

Right after, I compiled all evidence into a detailed post and published it online. Title: My fiancé married my best friend. Now he threatens to leak my private photos.

My fingers trembled as I hit post. But I knew this was the only way to protect myself and my family.

Within hours, the post gained thousands of shares, picked up by local advocacy accounts and spreading far beyond my own network.

Philip called repeatedly, and I blocked his number. Selena messaged me from dozens of new accounts; I blocked every single one.

The company group chat erupted. Coworkers who’d ignored me before relentlessly tagged Philip and Selena.

“Disgusting,” one person wrote. Another scoffed. “Is this the great love they kept bragging about?”

Someone shared surveillance footage from the break room, capturing Selena telling others I’d been stalking Philip.

[The truth finally comes out. Bella’s the victim. They belong in the dumpster together.]

Early the next morning, HR released an official notice in the team chat: [After an internal investigation,

employees Philip and Selena have violated core workplace ethics. Their employment is terminated effective immediately.]

The group filled with celebratory replies.

After being fired, Selena posted a photo of her swollen, tear–streaked eyes on Instagram. Caption: How can

someone’s heart be so cruel?

Curious followers asked what had happened in the comments.

She replied to them: [I treated Bella like my sister. She’s resented me ever since I got close to Philip.]
