Design Rings for My Alpha’s Mistress? Oops. I Designed His Exile Instead Chapter 05

I stepped out of the hotel and took a deep breath.

The ache in my chest didn’t fade-it only sharpened in the silence, my wolf whimpering softly in the back of my mind.

Nayeli clung tightly to my arm, her voice still trembling with anger.

“Seraphina, you were incredible back there! I can’t believe they could be that shameless! Especially Aunt Eleanor-what the hell was she even saying?!”

I patted her hand, forcing a weak smile.

“Nayeli, thank you for standing up for me today.”

Nayeli looked indignant, her wolf flashing protectively in her eyes.

“What’s there to thank me for? I was just telling the truth!”

“So what are you gonna do now? You can’t just let them get away with this!”

“I won’t.” I stared out at the city lights, my gaze ice-cold, my wolf snarling for vengeance. “The show’s just getting

started.”

Once I was in the car, I immediately called Brielle.

“Send the ‘gift’ we prepared to Ronan’s biggest allied packs and business partners-especially the ones who knew about today’s mating ceremony.”

“Got it. Let him taste humiliation first.”

Brielle’s tone was sharp and efficient.

“Also, about that betting agreement you signed-I found a loophole. Some of the project data he gave you was falsified. That’s fraud under pack law. There’s a strong chance the contract can be voided. I’m already prepping the paperwork.”

“Good.” A weight lifted slightly off my chest. “What about the asset freeze?”

“Already submitted to the Pack Tribunal. We should have an answer by tomorrow morning at the latest. All those

money he transferred to Faye’s name, plus the funds he moved under ‘expansion investment labels None of its getting away.”

I hung up and leaned back in the driver’s seat, exhaustion washing over me.

From childhood friends to fated mates walking into a mating ceremony-and it all ended like this.

Suddenly, my phone started buzzing nonstop.

Ronan’s name flashed across the screen over and over, the mate bond pulling painfully at my chest.

I declined the call. He switched to texting.

“Seraphina, pick up! We need to talk!”

“It’s not what you think! I was forced into this!”

“Faye seduced me! She threatened me with the pup!”

“Just let me explain-I’ve always loved you!”

Staring at these pathetic, laughable excuses, I didn’t even bother replying.

Forced?

So those two years of bank transfers, that agreement signed under my pack’s seal, that carefully planned bonding ceremony-someone held a gun to his head for all of that?

Then Eleanor started calling.

I didn’t pick up.

She left a string of voice messages.

1 opened one-her voice was choked with tears:

“Seraphina, sweetheart, it’s all our fault, every bit of it… but the pup’s innocent! The child is the Blackthorn bloodline’s only hope… Please, for the sake of how good I was to you before, show some mercy. Don’t push Ronan to the edge… You two have been bonded for so many years-what can’t be talked through? Whatever you want, we’ll agree to it…”

I closed the voice message and put my phone on silent.

See?

Even now, all they cared about was “bloodline.” Legacy. Hoping I’d “show mercy.”

They never truly understood what they destroyed.

I didn’t go back to that so-called “home.” Instead, I drove to my small apartment in the neutral territory between our packs.

This place was my real sanctuary.

The next morning, Brielle’s call woke me up.

Her voice carried a hint of excitement.

“Three allied Alphas have already called in urgently, asking about Ronan. His pack office’s front desk is getting blown up-Council elders asking about the mating ceremony and the affair. Oh, and the Tribunal’s asset freeze notice? Should’ve reached him by now.”

I opened my laptop and logged into the werewolf news networks and pack social forums.

Sure enough, sharp-nosed reporters were already running stories with carefully worded headlines-“Prominent Alpha Caught in Mate Bond Scandal, Potential Impact on Pack Alliances.”

No names yet. But in our world? It was already an open secret among the higher-ranking wolves.

Right then, my studio manager called.

“Ms. Ashmore, we’ve had so many clients calling today, subtly asking about you and Alpha Blackthorn…”

“Also, Alpha Blackthorn came by the studio earlier. He was really worked up, demanding to see you. We turned him away, just like you instructed.”

I let out a cold laugh.

Now he wants to beg for mercy.

Too little, too late.

I was lost in thought when the doorbell rang.

Through the security camera, I saw who was standing outside.

Ronan.

He actually found this place.

I didn’t open the door. Instead, I spoke through the intercom, my voice icy.

“Leave. Now.”

He pounded on the door, his voice hoarse, his Alpha authority bleeding through.

“Seraphina! Open the door! Just talk to me! Five minutes!”

“Do you have any idea what you’ve done?! You froze all the pack’s liquid assets! The projects are gonna collapse! That’s my life’s work!”

My voice dripped with frost.

“Your life’s work?”

“Built with my pack’s money, my family’s connections, my name? Ronan, you know damn well how much of that

‘work’ was mine.”

“I was wrong! I know I was wrong!” His voice cracked, almost breaking now, the powerful Alpha reduced to this.

“It was that Faye! She tricked me! She said she was carrying my pup, she forced me to… I just lost my head for a second… Seraphina, I love you. We’ve been together since we were pups…”

Same old script.

Blame the woman. Play the victim. Always the one who was “forced.”

I cut him off, my tone terrifyingly calm.

“Your love and your apologies? Cheap. Disgusting. Save those lines for your Ms. Ashwood and your unborn heir.”

“As for your pack? Just wait for the alliance treaties to collapse, and your Alpha title will be stripped.”

The moment he turned our love into a business deal, the moment he used me as a pawn in his scheme-that version of Seraphina who loved him died.

He went quiet for a second.

Then I heard him kick the door.

Security came up shortly after and dragged him away.
