Design Rings for My Alpha’s Mistress? Oops. I Designed His Exile Instead Chapter 03

Design Rings for My Alpha’s Mistress? Oops. I Designed His Exile Instead Chapter 03

“Did you get the gift basket and flowers I had sent to your office?”

The notification snapped me back to reality.

Ronan was checking on me.

I let out a cold laugh and typed back.

“Got them.”

“Oh, and the studio’s organizing a sketching retreat to the Moonstone Valley territory. Going for some inspiration.”

His reply came instantly:

“Sounds great. I’ve been swamped with Alpha duties lately anyway-couldn’t have gone with you. Stay safe, love.”

I’ll give you all the room you need to perform.

Over the next few days, he personally packed my bags.

Watching him bustle around made my stomach turn.

If I didn’t already know his plan, I might’ve actually been touched by this caring mate act.

At the airport, he didn’t even wait for me to board before rushing off.

I looked away and glanced down at my phone.

A message from Faye.

“Ms. Ashmore, change of plans. Meeting his family today and having a small bonding ceremony. Can you deliver the rings today?”

The address attached was the most luxurious venue in the city-the Grand Luna Hotel.

My finger hovered over the screen. I replied smoothly:

“Perfect timing. Let me share in the joy.”

When I arrived at the hotel, I spotted Eleanor and Marcus Blackthorn-Ronan’s parents-walking in

I pulled my hood up low and quietly followed, my wolf keeping my scent masked.

Eleanor pulled Ronan aside into a corner, her tone anxious:

“I don’t mind you finding a she-wolf to have a pup with, but throwing a whole mating ceremony? That’s way over

the line.”

“The Ashmore Pack and ours go way back. Business ties. Burning bridges helps no one.”

“I won’t let Seraphina find out. Don’t worry, son.”

Listening to their conversation, emotions churned inside me-finally settling into a laugh.

Self-mocking. Helpless. Bitter.

Silent and sad.

Growing up, Eleanor treated me like her own daughter.

I remember being sick with wolfsbane poisoning as a kid-she stayed up all night by my bedside, personally administering the antidote.

When I got injured during training and scarred my shoulder, she worried more than my own mother, taking me to multiple pack healers.

Every diplomatic trip she took, she always brought back a gift for me.

Whenever Ronan and I fought as kids, she’d scold him first.

My mom used to joke: “She’s not my daughter-she’s yours. Maybe the Goddess mixed up our pups.”

Even my father, who’d spent years leading the Ashmore Pack, once said:

“The Blackthorns are wolves of honor. I trust them with Seraphina.”

But now? All she cared about was not “burning bridges.”

How fucking ironic.

Right then, Faye came bouncing over, all excited. Eleanor immediately switched to a warm, caring expression.

“You must be Faye. What a lovely girl. Ronan’s so lucky to have found someone like you.”

“Oh my, you’re carrying my grandson now-be extra careful, dear.”

Even Marcus, Ronan’s usually stoic father, had unmistakable joy in his eyes.

Guess they really did care about the whole “bloodline heir” thing.

All those reassurances-“It’s fine,” “Heirs don’t matter,” “We love you regardless”-were just to keep their broken Luna quiet.

Faye nestled shyly into Ronan’s arms, her tone dripping with barely concealed pride.

“I had terrible morning sickness earlier. I was worried something was wrong with the pup, but the healer said i might be a male-that’s why the symptoms are so intense.”

At that, Ronan and his parents lit up instantly, rushing to help her into the private ceremonial room.

They pushed the door open, and that’s when I saw it-familiar faces. All of them.

Ronan’s pack members. His close friends. Allied Alphas and Betas.

Every single one of them connected to me in some way. Almost all of them had benefited from my help, my family’s resources, my Luna duties at some point.

They all stood up, offering congratulations.

Nayeli Blackthorn, Ronan’s cousin, was now warmly holding Faye’s hand:

“Faye, you’re absolutely glowing! You and Ronan are such a perfect match! How far along are you? Make sure you’re eating enough for the pup!”

I’d funded the expansion of her training facility. I’d personally designed her mating rings when she found her mate.

One of the allied Alphas clapped Ronan on the shoulder:

“Congratulations, brother! Finally gonna have an heir to carry on your bloodline!”

Last year, his son was dying from a rare illness. I’d pulled every string I had to get the territory’s top healer to save him.

The room buzzed with laughter and celebration. But all I saw was blinding hypocrisy. Cold, hollow wolves.

Those same people who once looked at me with genuine gratitude, who called me Luna with respect, were now fawning over another woman.

After a round of pleasantries, Ronan led Faye to the center of the room.

Thanks for coming, everyone. Today’s an informal bonding ceremony for Faye and me.”

The atmosphere was warm and celebratory. Eleanor stood up eagerly, holding out a gift.

A moonstone bracelet.

Identical to the one she gave me at my mating ceremony.

“Faye, this is a Blackthorn family heirloom. Passed down to the Alpha’s chosen mate.”

“And now that you’re bonded, you can start calling me Mom.”

Faye blushed prettily and softly called out, “Dad… Mom,” before burying herself in Ronan’s arms.

The room erupted in cheers and howls of approval.

And I’d finally seen enough.

I shoved the door open with enough force that it slammed against the wall.

Everyone froze, staring at me in shock.

I let a slow, mocking smile curl at my lips, my wolf finally surfacing with cold fury in my eyes.

“Sorry I’m late.”

“Ms. Ashwood was in such a rush for the rings. Thought I’d deliver them myself.”
