Cry Harder, Alpha: Your Luna Is The Lycan Queen Now! Chapter 11 The Grand Royal Wedding

NARA’S POV

“Long live the King! Long live the Queen!”

I have never seen so much white in my life.

I stand at the edge of the Grand Balcony in a gown made from moonlight silk and crushed diamond, and I look out over a city that has vanished under flowers.

Snow Lilies. Millions of them.

Valerian emptied every frozen field on the continent and buried my whole capital in the one flower that was ever used to break my heart.

The bloom that was handed to another woman while I died is carpeting an empire that now kneels for me.

He steps up beside me and takes my hand, and every Alpha on the continent drops to their knees in the snow below.

“They are bowing to the wrong person,” Valerian murmurs against my temple. “I have been on my knees for you since the day I pulled you out of that pool. They are only catching up.”

I laugh. It surprises me. I have not laughed in years.

The reception is loud and gold and full of music, but the Lycan King does not look at a single lord in the room. He looks at me.

I sit on a throne, and Valerian kneels on the floor at my feet.

He has slipped the diamond heels off my sore feet and set them in his own lap, and he rubs the ache out of my arches with his big warm hands as though it is the most important work in his kingdom.

When I glance at the fruit and do not reach for it, he plucks a grape from the platter and lifts it to my lips himself, and he watches me eat it with his whole heart in his eyes.

The visiting Alphas whisper behind their cups. They cannot believe the monster who makes warlords wet themselves is on his knees feeding his wife grapes.

“You are ruining your reputation,” I tell him quietly.

“Good.” He kisses the top of my foot. “Let them fear a man who would burn the world down for one woman. It is the only reputation worth having.” He looks up at me through his lashes, that fierce, scarred face gone soft. “Are you happy, my soul? Tell me, and I will make it happen. Anything. I have a whole continent in my hand and I would trade every stone of it just to watch you smile twice in one night.”

“I’m happy,” I whisper. And for the first time in my life, saying it is not a lie I am telling to survive.

By midnight, we finally slip away from the noise.

The doors of our chambers close behind us, and the whole loud world goes mute.

The room glows soft and blue from the Miracle Pool, and a hundred candles flicker along the walls

Valerian lifts me off my feet and carries me to the middle of the great bed.

He lays me down as though my bones are spun sugar, then climbs over me, his huge body caging me in. shutting the rest of the world out on the far side of his shoulders.

I reach up and trace the long scar down the side of his face. He turns into my hand and lets out a low rumble deep in his chest, his eyes half closing.

“For five years,” I whisper, “I was afraid of the future. I thought my whole life was just a slow countdown to a cold, empty death on a stone floor.”

His eyes darken with the memory of everything they did to me. I stroke his cheek until his wolf settles again.

“But I am not afraid anymore,” I say. “Now I want it. The future. I want to build one.”

“Build what, my soul?” His voice is barely there.

“A family.” My face goes warm. “I want a palace so full of little royal pups that we trip over them in the halls. I want them to have your eyes. I want your children, Valerian. I want forever with you.”

The most dangerous man on the continent goes completely still.

His jaw trembles. The King who has ended whole armies without blinking has tears standing bright in his fierce eyes.

“Nara,” he chokes out, and my name breaks in half in his mouth.

He cannot say another word. He does not try.

He pulls me into him and kisses me, deep and desperate and shaking, a kiss with ten years of loneliness and a whole future poured into it.

I fist my hands in his dark hair and drag him closer, and the mate bond fires awake between us, warm and bright and endless.

He kisses down my jaw, down my throat, slow and worshipping, until his lips reach the soft skin of my stomach.

And true to his word, Valerian kept every vow he swore.

Every single day was an overwhelming spoiling of romance, rare flowers, unmatched luxuries, and a depth of love that left me half crying at every grand gesture he pulled off just to see me smile.

Side by side, we ruled the united packs as one.

We built expansive hospitals for the pups, ensured better food and care for our people, and publicly

exposed the vile truth of Aiden and Jasmine to the entire territory.

I finally continued my mother’s legacy, standing tall and fierce, all beside my loving new mate

Until, a year later, our happiness multiplied with the arrival of our twins.

We named our son Sorian, meaning the fierce light of dawn, and our daughter Vespera, meaning the golden evening star that protects the night.

And forever looked just like the ancient poetry always promised:

For as long as the stars burn and the rivers flow, my soul has only ever belonged to you.
