Bully Her? She’s the Mafia Princess Chapter 02

Bully Her? She’s the Mafia Princess Chapter 02

Several tall soldiers grabbed Vincent by the arms.

He struggled, staring at me in shock. “You wouldn’t dare! I’m the second son of the Costa family! Your future husband!”

I let out a scornful laugh. “Why wouldn’t I dare? If I wanted to, the line of young, talented men wanting to marry me would stretch from Manhattan to Los Angeles.”

“Who the hell do you think you are, Vincent Costa?”

“Today, I’ll make sure you understand why I rule the underworld.”

With that, I raised an eyebrow and said to the soldiers, “Throw him out. Don’t hold back.”

When Vincent stormed back to the Costa estate, he was furious and humiliated. He ran straight into Mrs. Costa, who had rushed over after hearing the news.

Before she could even ask what happened, Vincent lashed out. “This is all your fault for insisting I marry Isabella!”

“Otherwise, I never would’ve gone to the Thorne estate and been humiliated like that!”

After hearing the whole story, Mrs. Costa grew even more resentful toward me. She silently vowed to break me after I married into the family.

But on the surface, she spoke gently. “Evelyn is just spoiled by Mr. Thorne. She’s too headstrong, not like Bella, who’s gentle and understanding.”

“Everyone in New York knows about her temper. Who else could tolerate it? Marrying into the Costa family is a blessing for her.”

“She’s young and naive right now. In a few days, I’ll personally send someone with an invitation.”

“We’ll have her over for dinner, and I’ll calmly explain the benefits of letting Bella into the family. Once she understands, she’ll come apologize to you.”

After having Vincent thrown out, I immediately called my parents, who were away on business in Italy, and told them everything.

The more I thought about it after hanging up, the angrier I became. I drove straight to the estate on the outskirts of town to voice my grievances to my grandfather.

The Costa family had gotten too arrogant lately. It was time to take back our protection.

I thought that was the end of it with the Costa family, but a few days later, I actually received an invitation to their gala.

My secretary and assistants all advised me not to go. They said the Costa family was probably setting a trap to corner me.

I twirled a small knife in my hand. “I haven’t done anything wrong, so why should I hide from them? Besides, I’d love for the guests to see the Costa family’s true colors.”

At the entrance to the Costa estate’s gala, just as I stepped out of the car, Isabella approached me in a white gown, looking almost unnaturally delicate and innocent.

Her voice was soft, but her words had a sharp bite. “Miss Thorne, there are so many important people here tonight. How could you show up dressed so casually?”

“I understand you’re upset with me, but you shouldn’t embarrass Vincent and the Costa family like this.”

I shot her a cold look and ignored her.

I’m Evelyn Thorne. I wear whatever I want, and no one except my family elders gets to tell me otherwise.

I pulled out my phone and said in a flat but commanding tone, “Manager Marcus? If I remember correctly, the venue for tonight’s Costa gala is rented from our Thorne Group-owned hotel, isn’t it?”

“Clear the place out. Now. Put all the losses on my tab.”

Isabella’s face went pale. She hadn’t expected me to be so ruthless.

Vincent rushed outside just in time to see Isabella teary-eyed.

He gave her a pained look, then turned to glare at me. “Evelyn! Bella was being kind by waiting outside to greet you. Why would you bully her?”

I raised an eyebrow. Was I bullying her? Clearly, I was bullying the entire Costa family.

Well, not bullying, I was retaliating against their humiliation of me.

I grabbed a glass of wine, clinked a fork against it, and drew everyone’s attention.

The guests gathered around, confused, watching me.

I let out a cold laugh and asked Vincent in front of everyone, “Greet me? On whose behalf?”

“Is Isabella the future matriarch of the Costa family? From the way she’s acting, anyone would think the Costas had already married her in.”
