Bound To The Moon Priestess Chapter 01

Bound To The Moon Priestess Chapter 01

Because of the rotting ancient temple tradition, I put on the golden robe of the Sun Priest and pretended to be a man.

My twin sister, on the other hand, wore the silver robe of the Moon Priestess and became the most beloved princess of this forest.

No one knew my pain.

So at seventeen, I became pen pals with a werewolf, writing to him as a girl.

I poured my heart out in those letters, telling him how much I loved the silver robe.

We talked for six months.

One day, he said in a letter. [I know who you are. I’ll find you.]

That same afternoon, the most dazzling Alpha of the pack confessed to my sister Isara Ashward.

When I tried to explain, he thought I was trying to get between him and my sister, and looked at me with disgust before driving me away.

But I wasn’t the Sun Priest trying to steal my sister’s lover.

I was Caelum Ashward, who just wanted to wear a silver robe once.

“According to ancient tradition, our family must have a boy to serve as Sun Priest.”

“But both twins are girls!”

“Then make one of them play the part.”

Those words haunted me like a nightmare.

Meanwhile, people around me were buzzing with excitement.

“Wow, is that Roran Blackthorn? One of the most famous Alphas.”

“His face looks like the Moon Goddess herself sculpted it. I snuck a peek when I passed by, and I’m already in love.”

“He actually confessed to Isara!”

In these woods, news about Roran always traveled the farthest.

“Did you know? Roran has loved Isara for a while now.

“My cousin is his friend, and he said Roran writes to a pen pal every day. The look in his eyes was so soft.

“The girl he writes to, she drew all those designs for silver robes. Who else could it be but Isara?”

I stood in the crowd, watching them from a distance.

Isara wore a laurel gold crown, dressed in a striking silver dress. Her long hair curled slightly, draped beautifully over her shoulders.

She buried herself in Roran’s arms, and even her blushing face was gorgeous.

I guessed they were right. Isara really did shine like the Moon Goddess.

My friend Vane looked at Isara, then back at me, his face dead serious.

“Caelum, you and your sister don’t look alike.”

“Where?”

Vane snorted, throwing out a comparison. “Your sister’s a princess. You… you’re like her servant. Scrawny, short, and your hair’s all split ends. Why don’t you take care of your appearance? Maybe someone would dig your look.”

I got pissed and shot him a glare.

Vane shoved me again, grinning like a jerk. “Caelum, don’t be mad. I’ll buy you some Moon Dew.”

Just as I was about to look up, he said, “This one’s for you. The other one, take it to your sister…”

He gave me the cheapest Moon Dew.

And for my sister, the rarest top-shelf Moon Brew from his family’s stash.

I pushed him away. “I’m not going. She doesn’t like you, and she won’t take your gift.”

He flushed with anger and raised his voice.

“Aren’t we friends? Or are you looking down on my gift?

“Caelum, I swear, you’re just jealous of your sister!”

With that, he took off.

A lot of people turned to stare at me.

I clutched the edge of my robe, pretending I didn’t care. I didn’t speak to Vane for the rest of that day.

The Sun Priest’s golden robe changed my scent, marking me as male to outsiders.

But the price was burning pain, weakness, and losing my real name.

I couldn’t be loved as a girl.

I suddenly remembered a long time ago, when I got scolded by my mom for secretly wearing my sister’s hair clip.

I was so upset that I vented in a letter. I just scribbled down a random address, never expecting a reply.

[Don’t be sad. I’ll give it to you. Free.]

After that, we talked more and more.

He said: [You like silver? Silver is the moon’s color. I bet it suits you perfectly.]

And that was how Roran mistook Isara for me, and confessed to her in front of everyone at the festival.
