Amnesia Erased Luna’s Pain and Love Chapter 19

Amnesia Erased Luna’s Pain and Love Chapter 19 The Invitation

“But Florence, this guy’s known for being impossible to please! If he’s not happy with a potential partner, he’ll shut it down on the spot!”

Florence paused mid-step, her phone in hand. The soft glow from the streetlight cast shifting shadows across her face.

“Yet he just said he’d bring the proposal back to the Elder Council to further discuss the equity terms for the investment.”

“That’s a great sign!” Zera nearly shrieked through the phone.

“If he wasn’t interested, he would’ve shown you the door. But the fact that he’s thinking it over? That means he’s at least 70% in! Stay on it, Florence. Whether our college gets to the next level, it’s all riding on you.”

“Got it.”

Florence ended the call. Instead of calling a cab, she shifted into her wolf form and sprinted

home.

Her wolf had been regaining strength ever since she arrived in Hegreau. Now, she could shift again with ease.

And that felt like progress. Like everything was finally starting to move in the right direction.

The next morning, she was sitting at her vanity, applying lipstick, when her phone rang unexpectedly.

Axel’s name lit up the screen. They had exchanged numbers just the day before.

After a pause, she answered, “Axel?”

“Ms. Wraith,” came the smooth chuckle on the other end, mixed with faint traffic in the background.

“Are you free today? I just sent you a location-I think you’ll find it interesting.”

She had barely opened her mouth to ask about the contract when a text popped up with the address.

It was the Galeborn Pack’s Exhibition Hall.

The words “Contemporary Architectural Design Showcase” leapt out at her. She’d been tracking this exhibit for weeks. Tickets had sold out within hours.

Even Zera, with her wide network, couldn’t get one.

Florence couldn’t find a single reason to say no.

Half an hour later, she stood outside the exhibition hall, spotting Axel leaning casually against the front of his car.

He wasn’t wearing a suit today. Just a relaxed button-down and jeans, a far cry from their first meeting. Somehow, the casual look made him seem more approachable.

“I heard you minored in architecture in college?” Axel held the door open for her, soft lighting from the gallery casting warm tones across his sharp features.

“The curator of this exhibit happens to be a friend of mine.”

Florence froze for a second.

She’d never told him about her minor. And she certainly hadn’t mentioned how excited she was about this particular exhibit.

“Alpha … You didn’t have someone look into me, did you?” she asked, only half joking.

“Know your allies, and you’ll never lose a battle,” he said with a grin.

“Besides, I saw the way you kept staring at the restaurant’s support wall the other day.”

That made her stop dead.

He was right. That day, she had been completely drawn in by the restaurant’s unique structural layout. But she had no idea he noticed or remembered. He even went out of his way to invite her to the exhibition.

For the next two hours, they wandered through the gallery, light and shadow playing across their faces as they studied the exhibits.

Axel seemed to know everything about the works on display, offering thoughtful, sometimes surprising insights.

Ten minutes later, Florence found herself saying, “Mr. Westwood, honestly, you sound more like an expert than I do.”

“Please, just call me Axel,” he replied with a smirk.

“To me, what people are like outside of work says a lot more than any business pitch.”

Florence turned her gaze toward a twisted steel-and-glass sculpture, raw with tension and

energy. For a moment, she understood.

It made perfect sense why this man could lead the Galeborn Pack so successfully.

Her bag buzzed. Zera again.

“Any updates on the investment?”

Florence glanced down at the screen, then up at Axel, who was now gesturing thoughtfully toward a kinetic installation.

She typed slowly, “Everything’s going smoothly.”
