Alphas’ Biggest Mistake Chapter 07

Alphas’ Biggest Mistake Chapter 07

“You said it was an accident. You said the photos were taken care of. Then how did it come to this?”

Even Merrick looked stunned, like he couldn’t wrap his tread around what had happened.

Panic climbed from his feet all the way to the top of his head.

“I never meant for her photos to spread. I was drunk, I didn’t even know what I was doing. How was I supposed to know they’d go viral the next day?

“I don’t need you to tell me. I’m going to get to the bottom of this myself. I need to talk to Fenrisa and

explain everything.”

His people moved fast.

Soon enough, everyone involved in the incident was dragged into the parking garage.

Even Lope, still recovering at the hospital, hadn’t been spared.

She had never been treated like this before, and the moment she saw Merrick, tears welled in her eyes.

“Merrick, it hurts,” she said in a trembling voice. “They tied me up, it’s so tight, please, make them stop.”

But before she could finish, Kieran kicked her hard.

His eyes were bloodshot, and his hand tightened around her throat.

“What did you do to Fenrisa?” he growled. “Tell me, of I swear I’ll make you wish this was all you had to

deal with.”

Lope had never seen him like this, wild and terrifying. She panicked instantly and nodded furiously.

“I’ll talk, I’ll talk…”

After being thrown to the floor, she coughed violently.

Merrick watched her coldly. “You better be honest. We’ll find out one way or another. These little games of yours aren’t going to work.”

Kieran dragged on a cigarette, trying to keep the nausea in his chest at bay.

And then it hit him, the fear, the panic from earlier, he knew why it had felt like something was slipping away from him.

Because it was.

That little she wolf who used to follow him around calling him she was gone.

And the worst part? He was the one who wanted her gone in the first place. Now, regret hollowed him out

from the inside

Lope choked out a tearful confession “I only did it because I cared about you guys I couldn’t stand seeing

Fenrisa replace me. So I found someone to leak her photos…”

She paused, shaking, then added, “And when I heard you two wanted to scare her, I paid those guys to… to

assault her…”

The slap from Merrick landed with a sharp crack. “You crazy bitch! How could you do that to her?”

Now it all made sense. No wonder Fenrisa looked at him with nothing but disappointment.

She thought he and Kieran had done all of this to her. No wonder her eyes had looked so dead.

He’d had no idea. He’d thought Lope was still the sweet, gentle girl he remembered.

Instead, she’d done something this vile. And he… he had left Fenrisa over and over again, always picking

Lope first.

She must’ve been so desperate.

And when those photos spread, when she stabbed herself with that silver dagger, it hadn’t been for drama

or pity. It had been a final act of resistance.

The guilt crashed over him.

And then, as if fate wanted to twist the knife, his Beta handed him a security tape from the night he and Kieran were drinking in that private room.

The entire conversation had been overheard.

From the moment they started talking, Fenrisa had been outside that door. She’d heard every

word.

Merrick’s hands started shaking uncontrollably.

“She knew… back then, she already knew…”

Kieran smacked himself in the face, again and again.

“This is my fault. If I hadn’t come up with that stupid plan, telling you to lie to her, she never would’ve gotten hurt. She never would’ve left.”

Seeing how broken he looked, Merrick muttered, barely hanging on, “L… I’ve loved her for a long time. I was just too afraid to admit it because of you.”

Then he turned to the Beta. “Where is she? You said she wasn’t leaving for tive more days. Why can’t we

her?”

Lope’s tace was swollen from the beating, but now she was laughing.

“She left early,” she said, smiling through the bruises. “Because she’s done with you. She doesn’t care

anymore.”

“You don’t know, do you? Aurelius changed his travel plans. He left with Fenrisa yesterday.”

“She’s gone. For good You’ll never see her again.”
