The only thing I needed to pack was the bracelet my grandmother left me.

I grew up with her in my father’s pack. After she passed, I moved in with my mother.

Before she died, she clasped the bracelet around my wrist herself, telling me she hoped I’d find happiness.

But when I opened the jewelry box, it was gone.

I tore the room apart searching, but it was nowhere.

Only when I checked the surveillance footage did I see the truth. Kieran had taken it.

He wouldn’t answer my calls.

When I finally found him, he and Merrick were in a private lounge, celebrating Lope’s birthday.

Someone in the group laughed and joked, “Merrick, since you broke up with your little nerd girlfriend, mind

handing her over to me?”

Merrick didn’t say anything. He just glanced at him with a blank face.

Kieran, flicking ash from his cigarette, said coldly, “Why bring her up? It’s Lope’s birthday. Don’t ruin the

mood.”

My fists clenched at my sides. As I pushed open the door the room instantly went quiet.

Kieran’s indifferent eyes met mine, but I didn’t waste time. “My bracelet. Give it back.”

Before he could speak, Lope lifted her wrist and smiled. “You mean this one? Merrick gave it to me.‘

The moment I saw it, I knew that it was my grandmother’s bracelet.

“That bracelet is mine. It means a lot to me. Please give it back”

Kieran let out a sharp laugh. His voice was cold and full of disdain.

“So what if it’s yours? I’m the Alpha. Everything here belongs to me. If I want something, I take it.”

My nails dug into my palms, but I couldn’t even feel the pain.

“Take whatever else you want. Just not that. It belonged to my grandmother

Merrick cut me off with a careless shrug.

“It’s just a bracelet. I’ll buy you a new one later. Lope likes this one. Consider it your birthday gift to her.

He said it like it meant nothing. Lope’s eyes sparkled with smugness.

“I really do love it. Name your price. I’ll pay anything.”

But I shook my head firmly. “I don’t want money. I want the bracelet.”

Kieran’s patience snapped He shoved me to the floor.

“Then get the hell out.”

Lope stepped in, pulling at his sleeve and whispering sweetly, “Don’t get mad, Kieran. Let me talk to her.”

She walked over, leaned down beside me, and whispered into my ear.

“You think just because I was gone, you could put on a sweet little act and seduce Merrick into making you his girlfriend? Don’t kid yourself. I’ll always be the most important person to them.”

“You want the bracelet? Fine. Get on your knees and beg.”

My breath caught in my throat. I didn’t say a word. It was the only thing my grandmother ever left me.

Just thinking of her warm smile twisted my heart into knots. Slowly, I bent my knees.

In front of everyone, I knelt down.

“Please. Give it back.”

Kieran and Merrick sat on the couch, watching with frowns, saying nothing.

Lope tilted her head with a syrupy smile, her eyes full of cruel glee.

“You really are pathetic, Fenrisa. Do you think playing the victim will get you what you want? Wow, you really know how to manipulate people.”

“Well then, here.

She let go of the bracelet. It dropped to the floor.

The string snapped, and crystals scattered everywhere.

“Oh no,” she said, all mock innocence. “Guess I wasn’t holding it tight enough.”

It was obvious she did it on purpose.

As I stared at the shattered pieces of my grandmother’s bracelet, my chest heaved.

I couldn’t hold it in anymore. With tears in my eyes, I slapped her across the face.
