Alpha, I Don’t Need You Anymore Chapter 07

Seeing Brandon run up, breathless and disheveled, Isaac took off his sunglasses, revealing sharp, knowing eyes, a faint mocking smile on his lips.

“Well, well. So this is the ex who’s so good with circuits?”

Brandon ignored him, charging straight toward me. His eyes were bloodshot, his face

covered in stubble, looking utterly defeated.

“Sophia! What are you doing?! Where are you going?!”

He reached out to grab my wrist, but Isaac intercepted him, blocking his path

effortlessly.

“Use your words. Keep your hands to yourself.” Isaac’s voice was cool, his stance

protective, like an impassable wall between Brandon and me.

Brandon looked at Isaac, then at the luxury car, a twisted sneer spreading across his

face.

“So that’s it, Sophia? You want to end things because you’ve already found your next target? You’d break up with me for this pretty boy?”

“Pretty boy?”

I couldn’t help but laugh.

Isaac chuckled as well. He pulled a business card from his pocket and extended it toward

Brandon with an elegant flick of his wrist.

“Allow me to introduce myself. I’m Ms. Wilson’s legal counsel for the partnership

dissolution. Also, her future business partner.

And just so you’re clear, this apartment is Ms. Wilson’s pre–marital asset. We are here to legally reclaim it. As for you…”

Isaac let his gaze sweep over Brandon… “…Your belongings have been placed by the

communal dumpster. I suggest you hurry if you want to retrieve them before the

garbage truck arrives.”

Brandon’s face went sheet–white.

He stared at me, disbelief etched into every feature. “Sophia… you’d really go this far? Have you forgotten everything I’ve done for you these past three years?”

“Everything you’ve done for me?”

I laughed, the sound bitter and hollow. “You mean making me take out the trash for you every time?

Or using my money to buy gifts for other women? Or… spending the night with another woman on my birthday?”

A crowd of neighbors had gathered, their whispers and pointed stares washing over

Brandon.

“Oh my god, he’s a freeloader!”

“Wants to have his cake and eat it too. Disgusting.”

“Good for her for leaving! She would have been miserable!”

Brandon’s face flushed, then paled again. He glared at me through gritted teeth. “Sophia, you’ll regret this! Who’s going to want you now, a used woman like you?!”

Crack!

A sharp, clear slap echoed through the air.

I pulled my hand back, my palm stinging.

“That,” I said, my voice cold and steady, “is from the woman who was blind for three

years. Brandon, remember this, it’s not that you didn’t want me. I’m the one throwing

you away. Like the trash you are,

With that, I turned and got into Isaac’s car.

The window glided up silently, cutting off the sight of Brandon’s twisted, furious face. Only his hysterical screams filtered faintly through the glass.

“Sophia! Don’t you dare regret this! If you leave now, don’t ever come crawling back to

me!”

Crawl back to him?

Maybe in another lifetime.

Isaac glanced over at my reddened palm and let out a soft sigh.

“Did it hurt?”

I shook my head, but tears betrayed me, spilling down my cheeks anyway.

“No. It just feels… pathetic.”

Isaac reached over and gently ruffled my hair, his voice softer than I’d ever heard it.

“It’s over now. The trash has been taken out. From now on, only good days ahead.”
