After My Father Was Murdered, I Thought He Was My Savior Chapter 11

Suddenly, warmth pressed against me from behind.

The familiar scent of cologne surrounded me.

Rinaldo hugged me tightly, as if he wanted to press me into his bones.

He seemed afraid that the moment he loosened his grip, I would disappear forever.

His choked voice was full of despair.

“Valentina, wasn’t that our beginning? Give me one more chance. Let me spend the rest of my life making it up to you. Whatever you want, I’ll give it to you. I only ask that you let me stay by your side.”

Hot tears fell onto the back of my cold hand.

They burned like fire.

I sighed softly, my voice cold as ice.

“Rinaldo, the only thing I want is for you to disappear from my world.”

I pushed out of his arms and walked down the steps without looking back, disappearing into Milan’s winding streets.

No one knew how long Rinaldo stood there.

After a long time, his hoarse voice echoed through the empty church.

“I understand, Valentina.”
