After I Lost My Memory, My Star Athlete Boyfriend Said We Broke Up Chapter 24

Maren’s gaze locked onto the screen, and she went ashen.

The photograph showed a hotel bed lit by dim bedside lighting. Two figures lay beneath the covers,

and one profile was unmistakably Killian’s.

She stood paralyzed, all color leaching from her face. “You… how do you still have this…

Comments surged across the screen the instant Maren went mute.

[She thought once Camille lost her memory, no one would ever investigate this photo! Dream on]

Camille watched the last vestige of color vanish from Maren’s face, then slid her phone into her pocket and locked the screen with a single tap.

Her expression stayed composed, but her voice carried a quiet, crushing weight. “I received this photo while I was driving the day of my crash. I got distracted and slammed into a roadside tree. After the accident, I remembered nothing. So you assumed everything would fade away? That no one would ever find out what you’d done?”

Maren’s lips trembled violently. She stumbled backward half a step and collided with the railing behind her, a dull thud echoing out. “I didn’t know you were driving… I only wanted you to stay away from him…”

Maren bit down on her lip, tears spilling in streams down her cheeks.

Camille stared at her tear-streaked face and paused for two seconds.

“What photo?” Killian’s voice cut into the conversation, low and taut.

Camille held out the phone toward him. “Take a look.”

The comment section erupted the moment he appeared.

[He’s here! How much did he overhear?!]

[His expression is terrifying… I’ve never seen him look like this in public.]

Killian took the phone and glanced down. The image hit him like a physical blow. His eyes widened in sheer disbelief. His fingers clamped tight around the edge of the device, knuckles whitening.

“What is this?” His voice turned hoarse. “When did I ever take something like this?”

He lifted his head to face Maren. The storm swirling in his gray-green eyes shifted from cold fury to

raw disbelief. “Maren, tell me what this is.”

Maren huddled against the barrier, her shoulders shaking uncontrollably. Her lips quivered,

unable to form a coherent sentence. “I… I just… wanted her to leave you…”

Killian turned back toward Camille, his voice edged with a desperate panic she had never heard before. “Camille, I didn’t know. Truly, I’ve never seen this photo before.”

Camille met his gaze, her features unchanged.

“I believe you.” She spoke evenly. “If you had known, you would never have let her send it.”

“I-“Killian parted his lips, desperate to explain, yet found no words to defend himself. He could only repeat the same phrase over and over. “There was never anything between us, Camille. Nothing. You have to believe me.”

Camille studied his frantic, unraveled demeanor and fell silent for several beats. “I trust you.”

Killian exhaled sharply, the sound ragged, as if surfacing from deep water after holding his breath too long. But before he could fully exhale, Camille’s next sentence locked his shoulders rigid once

more.

“Trusting you and forgiving everything that happened are two separate things. The photo is fake, yet all of this already unfolded. Whether you knew about it makes little difference to me.”

She turned toward Maren. Maren had dissolved into weeping, sinking to the ground and curling into a tight ball.

Camille looked away and gripped the suitcase handle. “Sort your matters out between the two of you. I’m leaving.”

She turned and walked toward the exit. Rapid footsteps chased her from behind, catching up

her in seconds.

He raised his hand as if to reach for her, then stopped inches away, fingers curling back against his palm. “Camille, wait. I need to talk to you.”

Camille paused briefly. “I’ll wait further ahead.”

After Camille departed, Killian turned to Maren.

She remained crouched by the railing, broken sobs drifting over.
