After He Bought His Intern a $100K Bracelet Chapter 07 Evicted

Grayson, meanwhile, had just gotten home with Chloe.

He’d barely punched in the keypad code and pushed the door open when a whole bucket of foul, reeking water crashed down on him from above.

It drenched him and Chloe from head to toe.

The next second, two burly men strolled in, each swinging a golf club.

“Damn, breaking into a place in broad daylight? You two have some nerve, playing burglar.”

They didn’t give Grayson a chance to explain.

They came at the pair of them, golf clubs swinging.

Grayson went down howling, shrieking with every blow.

Chloe was shielded under his body and took less of it, though her cheeks still bloomed with ugly bruises.

Grayson screamed that he was calling the cops.

One of them just kicked him flat to the floor.

“Go ahead, call them. Let’s see whether the cops haul you in for burglary instead.”

The whole lot of them ended up down at the police station that day.

When Grayson saw that the two men who’d beaten him were the landlords, his eyes went wide with alarm.

“That’s impossible. You weren’t the landlords when I signed the lease on this place.”

One of them looked at him with a sneer. “You’re right, we’re not the old landlords. We just bought the building. And for the record, the lease on this unit was terminated three days ago.”

The lease really had been canceled three days earlier.

Ivy might have wanted to give Grayson one last chance, but she’d never stopped preparing to leave.

She’d ended the lease she paid for, sold off everything she’d ever bought him, and boxed up every keepsake from their relationship to dump in the trash.

She did love Grayson, but she wasn’t generous enough to keep a roof over his head while they were breaking up.

If he loved crashing at Chloe’s place so much, then he could stay there forever.

So those final three days weren’t really Ivy handing Grayson one last chance. They were her getting ready to move out.

And the day Ivy moved out, Sebastian bought the building outright, dead set on making whoever had hurt her pay.

Grayson walked away with a settlement that day, and a fresh crop of bruises to go with it.

The moment he got out, Grayson started blowing up Ivy’s phone in a rage.

He wanted to demand why she’d be vicious enough to sell off his things.

But the call barely rang before it went dead.

When he tried again, he found Ivy had already blocked his number.
