After 28 Lockouts, I Finally Locked Him Out Chapter 08

Early the next morning, Julian knocked on the door.

“I’m heading to the office. You should stay home and calm down. Let’s not turn this into some high school breakup. Things aren’t as serious as you think.”

I didn’t answer.

I heard Eleanor see him out, her tone so familiar it was as if she’d never left the house.

Not long after the car drove away, the bedroom door was shoved open.

Eleanor walked in with her arms crossed, surveying the room like it was her own territory.

“Clara, I need the expense details, meeting minutes, and audit reports for the Westwood Education Trust for the past three years.”

She glanced down at the suitcases by my feet, the corner of her mouth curling into a sneer.

“Still packing? Julian’s already gone. Who are you putting on a show for now?”

I folded one of Maya’s little dresses and placed it in the suitcase, ignoring her.

She stalked closer and kicked the suitcase with the toe of her high heel.

“Do you know what people in Boston say about you? They call you the COO of the Westwood family office. Not the mistress of the house.”
