Abandoned Wolf Pup A Teddy Bear Recorded All the Abandonment of His Dad Chapter 03

The receptionist went on, “The rehab bed we’d reserved for him has already been released.”

“If you want to reschedule, the soonest opening is six months out.”

Six months.

Sammy couldn’t afford to wait that long.

The pack healer had warned that the three-month window following surgery was the golden period for vision rehabilitation training.

Miss it, and permanent blindness was a very real risk.

I hung up and stormed into the home study.

Spread across the desk were Sammy’s medical charts, rehabilitation assessment forms, and an enrollment guarantor document made out for Chloe.

Benjamin sat there behind his wire-rimmed glasses, sorting through English paperwork for her with that familiar, single-minded focus—the same one I’d seen in hospital promotional ads, at academic conferences, every time Chloe leaned in and called his name.

But he never once wore it for Sammy.

“Did you cancel Sammy’s specialist appointment behind my back?” I demanded.

Benjamin looked up, frowning. “Why are you always so quick to lose your temper?”

I raised my voice sharply. “Answer the question—did you cancel Sammy’s appointment?”

He slipped off his glasses and rubbed his brow.

“Chloe needs an official ophthalmology evaluation for her advanced training.”

“The specialist seeing Sammy is the only one authorized to issue reports recognized across werewolf territories for her program.”

“Sammy’s condition is stable. We can reschedule him later.”

“Chloe only gets one shot at this opportunity.”

I stared him down. “Sammy only gets one shot at recovering his sight too!”

Benjamin’s face hardened with impatience.

“It’s not like Sammy’s going to die waiting a few months!”

Shaking with rage, my gaze fell on a bank statement lying on the desk.

Eight hundred thousand dollars had been transferred out of our joint account.

The memo read: [Chloe Advanced Training Security Deposit.]

Eighty thousand dollars—money I had set aside for Sammy’s second phase of rehabilitation.

I picked up the statement. “What is this?”

Benjamin froze for a second, then regained his composure.

“Chloe’s moving to the Northern Pack for training. She needs funding right now.”

“There’s plenty of time to sort out Sammy’s expenses later.”

“I can borrow the funds to cover it later.”

The whole situation struck me as utterly ridiculous.

“Later? Benjamin, Sammy is your own flesh and blood!”

His expression darkened. “Madison, stop holding Sammy over my head.”

“Chloe hasn’t had an easy life.”

“Her parents were exiled from Silverpine Pack.”

“She was this close to becoming a rogue, yet she pushed through everything.”

“You have a job, a home, your child—what does she have?”

“She has you!”

The words barely left my mouth before I raised my hand and struck him across the cheek.

The sound of the slap rang sharply through the room.

Benjamin’s head snapped to the side.

Slowly, he turned back, his eyes dark and menacing.

Heavy, oppressive Alpha pheromones washed over me, making my inner wolf cower slightly.

I paid it no mind, my hands clenched into fists.

“That slap is for Sammy, who waited for you alone outside the operating room that day.”

A small sound came from the doorway.

I turned to find Sammy standing there, clutching his teddy bear.

He’d heard everything.

His vision was still poor, so he shuffled forward slowly, one hand brushing along the wall.

“Mommy?”

I knelt and pulled him into my arms. Sammy lifted a tiny hand to stroke my cheek.

“Don’t be sad, Mommy.”

I wasn’t crying at all, yet he’d still tried to comfort me.

That night, Sammy sat up in bed and pressed the record button on his teddy bear.

“Teddy, Daddy gave my healer to Chloe. Does that mean I won’t be able to see anymore?”

I lingered in the doorway, my nails digging into my palms.

My phone lit up with a new post from Chloe on social media.

In the photo, Benjamin stood beside her, helping her slide paperwork into a folder.

Her caption read: [So grateful for the one who always puts me above everything else.]

Benjamin had already liked it.

Staring at those words, I dialed my attorney.

“Add three charges to the case: unauthorized marital asset transfer, canceling our son’s medical appointment without consent, and misuse of his hospital administrative access.”

“Put everything on record.”

“I want his medical licensing revoked for all patient medical documentation signatures.”
