Goodbye, My Beloved Alpha Chapter 07

Goodbye, My Beloved Alpha Chapter 07

The Howling Wind enforcers knocked just as Lucas was setting the table.

The door opened. They pushed their way in.

Lucas blocked them.

“Who are you looking for?”

Their eyes landed on me. I was still holding a spatula.

“Luna Clara. The Alpha sent us to bring you home.”

It had been a long time since anyone called me that. It felt like another life.

“Hey, that’s my mate.”

Lucas pushed them back. One enforcer contacted Silas.

“Alpha, she’s married.”

Silas arrived faster than I’d expected.

He stood in the doorway, his face like thunder.

The enforcers moved aside. Silas tried to shove past.

Lucas didn’t budge. His green eyes held Silas’s gaze.

‘Get him out of the way!” Silas snapped.

“You barge into my home to take my mate? I don’t think so.”

Silas finally looked at Lucas. Really looked.

“So the woman in your painting is my mate. You owe me an explanation.”

‘Nothing to explain. We have the papers. She’s mine.”

Silas let out a cold laugh. His gaze swept the room, landing on me.

“Clara, you’ve gotten bold Running off and marrying someone else. Come home now, and I’ll pretend I didn’t heat that

He held out his hand

I used to take it.

Not this time.

“Silas, I gave the ring back. We’re done.”

‘Done? Howling Wind raised you. Fed you. You think ‘done’ is enough? What is wrong with you?”

His eyes were red. Silas lunged. Lucas wasn’t fast enough.

Silas grabbed my wrist. Hard.

“You’ll break the bond with him first. Then you’ll bond with me. For real this time.”

I slapped him.

The room went silent.

Silas stared as if he couldn’t comprehend what had just happened.

“What is wrong with you? I’m gone. I don’t want the papers. I don’t want anything. Bring whoever you want home. Just

leave me alone.”

“You’re not leaving. Howling Wind raised you. You’re ours.”

He came for me.

He took three steps before Lucas’s own enforcers blocked the door.

The Alpha aura rolling off him was something even Silas couldn’t ignore.

That…

That was the Alpha King.

“You think I can’t protect my own mate?”

My heart pounded.

This wasn’t how I’d thought it would go.

I’d thought when I left. Silas would be relieved. Maybe even happy.

I hadn’t known how the show was supposed to go.

I didn’t know who threw the first punch. Suddenly, everyone was fighting

Lucas went straight for Silas.

Lucas won. But Silas got a hit in. His face looked bad.

“Alpha Silas, you’re getting old. Leave the fighting to the young ones.”

I tugged Lucas’s sleeve, worried about what Silas might do.

Silas had never lost a fight.

He looked defeated. His enforcers even more so.

“Take him home. And don’t come back.”

I pulled Lucas inside.

He touched his face, wincing. “God, he hits hard. Am I still pretty?”

I brought the first aid kit. “Wait, let me clean that.”

I leaned in close. He turned his head and kissed me.

“Better than medicine. You didn’t correct them when they called you my mate.”

I shoved the iodine into his hand.

You said it was fake.

He grinned. “I just wanted to stop him from taking you.”

“You lied to me.”

‘Maybe. I gave up my return to the pack for my freedom. If it’s a lie, I’m doomed.Divorce me, and I not only lose my wife.

I’m stuck in a pack office forever. It’s tragic, really.”

I poked his bruised cheek.

“You’re an idiot.”

“Yeah, so don’t leave me.Let me suffer happily, at least.

I nodded.

‘Can I kiss you for real now?”

He didn’t wait for an answer.

I tried to push him away. It didn’t work.

‘Lucas, don’t.’

‘Relax. I’ll be gentle.”
