The Black Wolf’s Forced Luna Chapter 03

The Black Wolf’s Forced Luna Chapter 03

I should have run.

The moment the castle doors opened and the icy forest wind hit my face, every instinct screamed at me to turn around and run.

But the Moon Goddess’s curse was like a chain, burning through my veins, and I couldn’t break free.

So I followed Damon into the endless dark.

Shadow Pack’s warriors moved fast around us, forming up. Wolf howls bounced through the trees in the distance.

The air was stretched tight, thick with violence.

The whole forest felt like it was silently waiting for a bloody massacre.

Damon walked ahead, one hand in his coat pocket, calm. Like the rogues invading his land didn’t matter at all.

Meanwhile, I could barely breathe.

“How are you so calm?” I asked quietly.

His silver eyes glanced at me.

“I’ve killed more rogues than I can count.”

That answer just made my blood run colder.

A Beta ran up through the snow.

“Alpha, they’ve crossed East Ridge.”

“How many are left?”

“At least twelve confirmed.”

Damon gave a slight nod. No fear. No hesitation. Just calm.

The warriors immediately spread out, searching deep into the woods.

And then—

A low growl sounded nearby.

Too close.

So close it made my skin crawl.

I froze.

Two glowing eyes appeared in the bushes.

Then another pair.

A massive hulking rogue stepped out of the darkness, fresh blood still wet on its fangs.

My heart almost stopped.

The next second, it suddenly lunged straight at me.

It all happened too fast to react.

One second it was coming for me.

The next—

Damon already had his hand tightly gripped around its throat.

The massive impact slammed hard into the frozen ground, shaking snow loose from the branches until it fell in flurries.

The rogue thrashed wildly underneath him.

But Damon didn’t even look like he was trying.

His face stayed cold. Distant.

Like killing was nothing to him.

“You dared step into my territory,” he said, his voice flat.

Then he snapped its neck with one hand.

The crack of bone echoed through the forest.

Everything went silent.

I stopped breathing.

The rogue hit the ground. Dead.

Damon stood up slowly, blood dripping from his fingers.

Moonlight filtered through the trees and caught his silver eyes.

Right then, I finally understood why the whole Northern Territory feared this Black Wolf.

He was fundamentally different from ordinary werewolves.

He was more like a monster born for violence and brutality.

Damon looked at me, calm.

“You’re shaking.”

I hadn’t even noticed.

“I just watched you kill it.”

“It wasn’t a werewolf,” he corrected quietly. “Just a rogue.”

That didn’t make me feel any safer.

Before I could answer, howls rose one after another through the woods.

More rogues emerged from the darkness, closing in.

The warriors tensed up instantly, on high alert, low warning growls rumbling through the trees, one after another.

Only Damon smiled, a cold, sharp smile curling at the corner of his lips.

“Stay close to me,” he said quietly.

The Moon Goddess’s voice echoed in my head.

[Command executed. Bond initiated.]

I hesitated, and pain shot through my chest.

I gasped.

Damon noticed right away that something was wrong, his silver eyes narrowing.

“What’s wrong with you?”

“Nothing … nothing.”

I was lying.

The pain kept getting worse, like invisible claws were squeezing my heart tightly.

I staggered slightly—

And just before I fell, in that instant, Damon reached out and grabbed my wrist firmly.

The sharp pain in my chest vanished completely in an instant.

We both froze.

Damon slowly looked down at his hand around my wrist, then lifted his eyes back to me.

Something dangerous flickered in his eyes.

“You really are like me, just as I thought,” he murmured.

Fear clamped tightly onto my throat.

“What does that mean?”

He didn’t answer. Instead, he stepped closer.

Too close. My heart started racing.

His eyes slowly dropped down and landed on my neck.

Then he leaned in slightly, close to my throat, and quietly breathed in my scent.

My heart completely lost its rhythm.

“What are you doing?” I whispered, my voice shaking, my heart racing uncontrollably.

Damon completely ignored me. The color in his eyes grew darker and darker.

“This keeps getting more interesting.”

The warriors nearby all looked shocked. Scared.

One Beta lowered his voice, his face tense. “The Alpha is actually scenting her …”

Scenting her?

Before I could react, Damon’s fingers tightened slightly on my wrist.

Not hard enough to hurt. But hard enough to claim.

“Your scent changed,” he said quietly.

Changed? How did it change?

And then the Moon Goddess spoke again inside my head.

[The Black Wolf has begun to notice you.]

Silver letters slowly appeared before my eyes.

[Alpha Interest Level: 12%]

My blood turned to ice.

What the hell did that mean?

Before I could think about it—

A deafening roar suddenly tore through the silence of the forest.

The warriors stumbled back in unison. Fear appeared on many of their faces.

And Damon’s silver eyes slowly began to glow with a golden light.
