Adrian even got jealous over the fake husband I’d made up.

Every now and then he’d throw out something sour.

“What were you thinking, inventing some abusive husband?”

The second I finished, Adrian wrapped his arms around me from behind.

Then he pulled out a stack of papers from behind him and laid them in front of me.

“I was going to wait until the lawyers finished checking everything, but I think now is the right time.”

“What is this?”

I opened them and saw the title right away.

And beside it, a notarized will.

“A will? Do you have terminal cancer?”
