He Cut My Tendons to Make Room for Her, Then Promised to Keep Me as a Pet Chapter 04

Elias sprinted back to the hospital like a man possessed.

But when he shoved open the door, the room was empty.

The bed where she had been lying was stripped bare, except for a dark, glaring stain of blood that hadn’t been cleaned yet.

His heart dropped.

He staggered forward, then grabbed a patient from the neighboring bed, his voice hoarse and

breaking.

“Where’s my wife? Where did she go?”

The man shoved him off, clearly annoyed, rolling his eyes hard.

“So that was your wife? I thought the one you carried out earlier was.”

Elias froze.

The man continued, his tone sharp with irritation.

“You were yelling at her like she was nothing. She cried here for a long time, and you never came back. Now you’re asking me where she went? How would I know?”

Elias’s face went ghost white.

His knees gave out, and he collapsed onto the floor, not caring as dust smeared across his uniform.

Seeing him like that, the older woman in the next bed sighed. She reached under her pillow and

pulled out an envelope.

“That girl asked me to give you this before she left.”

Elias’s eyes lit up instantly.

His hands trembled as he tore the envelope open.

But the moment he read the contents, it felt like a lightning strike had gone straight through him.

“She… doesn’t want me anymore…”

“She’s really leaving me…”

It was just a single sheet of paper, but he read it over and over again, as if repetition could somehow change the words.

It didn’t.

The truth settled in, cold and final.

“She loved me so much… she would get upset if I ignored her even a little… how could she possibly

leave me?”

He muttered to himself, refusing to accept it.

While Elias had been carrying Amber away, I had written that letter through tears.

I wrote everything.

The truth about my kidnapping.

The truth about who ruined my reputation.

Every single tragedy that had happened to me.

I knew who was behind all of it.

After marrying Elias, all the ways Amber had targeted me were written down clearly, one by one.

I didn’t know if Elias would believe me.

In his eyes, Amber was innocent. Gentle. The kind of person who wouldn’t even step on an ant.

How could someone like that possibly do the things I described?

Elias dropped to his knees, clutching the letter as he broke down completely.

He never imagined I had known everything he had done.

“No… I need to find her. I have to explain everything to her.”

After a long moment, something seemed to snap inside him.

He forced himself up and rushed toward the door.

The second he stepped out, he ran straight into Amber, who had just come out of the next room.

She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, her cheeks slightly flushed as she looked at him shyly.

“Elias… there’s a performance at the Elite Performance Corps tonight. Will you come watch me?”

In the past, he had never missed a single one of her shows.

Not once.

But now, the moment he saw her, the words from my letter echoed in his mind.

All the things I said she had done to me.

He didn’t know if they were true.

But doubt had already taken root.

“I can’t. I have something to take care of.”

He didn’t hesitate.

He pushed past her, frowning, gripping the letter tightly as he hurried off.

He didn’t even slow down when she called after him, her voice breaking as she shouted his name.

His indifference cut deep.

Amber stood frozen, her heart twisting painfully.

A moment ago, while speaking to him, she had caught a glimpse of the envelope in his hand.

She recognized the handwriting.

A dark glint flashed through her eyes, replacing her earlier sweetness with something cold and

calculating.

“Bitch… just because you were born into money, you think you can make my life hell?”

“And now you think you can take Elias from me?”

Her lips curled into a faint, cruel smile.

“Let’s see if he still wants you once he knows what kind of person you really are.”

I knew nothing about what had happened at the hospital.

At that moment, I was completing the paperwork to transfer back to St. Novell.

My father had already arranged everything.

As soon as my discharge was processed, I could leave.

Before going back, I made one last stop.

The Elite Performance Corps.

During the hardest time of my life at Blackwood Naval Base, when I was barely holding on, it was Director Volkov who had shown me another path.

She gave me the chance to join the Elite Performance Corps, sparing me from the brutal conditions I had been enduring.

Even though she later expelled me because of a misunderstanding, I could never forget what she

had done for me.
