2 Million? No, Just 200! So I Fled With My Twins Chapter 05

Every head turned, and the reporters raised their cameras.

Corin frowned as his eyes swept over the two unfamiliar faces. “Who are you?”

I ignored him, pushed Nyx aside, stepped up to the front and took the mic right out of the host’s hand.

“I invited these two here today to clear up a few things in front of everyone. First up, let’s settle who fathered

my kids once and for all!”

I slapped the paternity results down on the table. The big screen showed them live, zooming in on the bold

line at the bottom.

[Based on multiple DNA tests, Corin Nightshade is the biological father of Dorian and Isolde.]

Corin’s brow relaxed a little. His wolf seemed to have its answer at last and strained toward the pups, and he softened his tone. “Okay, Morgana. That settles it. Come on down, and we’ll finish this in private.”

I didn’t even glance at him. I put three years of bank statements up on the screen next.

“This is every dollar I’ve made since I got pregnant. Assistance checks, odd-job wages, food truck sales. Not one cent came from Nightstalker Pack, and I’ve never laid eyes on any 500 thousand settlement.”

“Mr. Big Shot Alpha over there hasn’t spent a single day taking care of his own pups. My lawyer will be coming after every dollar of back child support he owes.”

I waved the medical staff forward. “These two are the doctor and nurse who handled my prenatal care. They

can back me up.”

“I went to every single appointment alone. Nobody from Nightstalker ever showed up, and I never saw a dime of this so-called pregnancy support or child support.”

The doctor and nurse brought my old medical records, which documented every appointment and bill I’d paid

myself. They also confirmed that I’d always come alone.

The doctor nodded. “We all remember Ms. Hail. The other moms-to-be had their families fussing over them,

but she always came alone, worrying about how to pay for her appointments.”

“Nobody would’ve guessed that a woman living on welfare was mated to an Alpha…”

Murmurs spread through the room. Eleanor’s face darkened, and she shot Corin an angry look.

Corin went pale. He opened his mouth, but nothing came out.

I wasn’t done. I put up a few photos next, along with some security footage.

“Since I started running my truck, three different crews have come around to cause trouble. They trashed my

stall, and one of them shoved my daughter and hurt her.”

“I reported it to the police, and it turns out they all worked for an offshore security contractor that does dirty

work for hire.”

I clicked the remote, and a photo filled the screen. The person in it wore a hat pulled low, so her face wasn’t

visible, but a diamond watch glittered on her wrist.

“And this watch should look pretty familiar to you, Alpha.”

The screen switched to a shot from a pack banquet. Corin was fastening a custom diamond watch onto Nyx’s wrist himself. The image zoomed in and froze. It matched the watch in the first photo down to the last

detail.

The whole room erupted, and camera flashes went off nonstop. Corin’s face turned white as a sheet.
