The Baby Whisperer They Tried To Tear Apart Chapter 04

The Baby Whisperer They Tried To Tear Apart Chapter 04

Everyone followed my finger.

When they saw I was pointing at Sierra Sterling, they all thought I had lost my mind.

Even Sierra herself laughed in disbelief.

“Natalie, do you hear yourself?”

“I’m Julian’s wife. I’m having an affair with him? Does that make any sense to you?”

Arthur looked at me with pure disgust.

“If I had known you were such a stupid con artist, I would have let the dogs tear you apart before you even opened your mouth.”

“Take her to the predator enclosure. Tell the drone light show team to cancel. I’m inviting everyone here to watch a fight between a human and wild animals.”

Arthur’s words were cruel. The security guards dragged me toward the enclosure.

I struggled and tried to explain, but they gagged me for being too loud.

Just as they were about to pull me out of the banquet hall, a business card fell out of my jacket pocket with a soft flutter.

The guards looked at it. Their faces went white. They trembled as they handed it to Arthur.

I straightened my clothes and told him, “To be honest, my real job is Chief Investment Strategist at Transatlantic Global Capital.”

“I came to this family party today to evaluate whether the Sterling family qualifies for Transatlantic’s first investment spot in the region.”

Before I could finish, Julian burst out laughing so hard tears ran down his face.

He clutched his stomach and pointed at me. “Natalie, your cons are laughable, but I have to admire your imagination.”

“First you’re a returnee genius, now you’re the chief investment strategist at Transatlantic.”

“Do you even understand how big Transatlantic is?”

“It’s the largest finance firm in the world. A janitor there makes more in a month than you do in a year.”

“You’re a diaper changer. Stop lying to yourself and go put on your show for the animals.”

Sierra smirked. She tore the business card in half and tossed the pieces in the air.

“I’ve seen this trick too many times. A few printed cards won’t fool anyone.”

“You’ve got a loud mouth. I don’t think one dog will be enough to handle you.”

“Dad, didn’t you just buy a few lions and tigers for your private collection? Why not let them out today and give everyone a real show?”

Arthur looked at the gold foil business card on the ground. The custom watermark caught the light and glittered brightly.

Still, he nodded and ordered his men to throw me into the enclosure with the wild animals.

The lions and tigers, starved for days, stood up and roared aggressively at me through the fence.

Julian grabbed my hair and forced me to look the animals in the eye.

Then he lowered his voice so only I could hear. “Natalie, you’re smart. You almost figured it out.”

“Too bad your luck ran out. Just let the animals tear you apart, and no one will ever find out my secret.”

He laughed cruelly and signaled the guards to lift the gate.

I watched helplessly as the gate slowly rose.

Death was only a breath away.

Just as the gate was about to open completely, a cheerful voice rang out from the entrance.

“Mr. Sterling, congratulations on your grandson.”

Arthur saw it was the regional representative for Transatlantic Global Capital. His eyes lit up, and he eagerly invited him to watch the show.

But when the representative looked into the enclosure and saw me, bruised and terrified, his face changed completely.

He rushed into the enclosure without thinking and threw himself in front of me.

“Chief Strategist Shaw.”
