I Thought I Was His Stalker. I Was Actually His Girlfriend Chapter 05By Novel7s Admin / October 12, 2026 I Thought I Was His Stalker. I Was Actually His Girlfriend Chapter 05Blake nodded.“Give me the bag.”I didn’t move.Instead, I frowned at him.“You’re in the club too?”“He’s not,” Logan said as he walked over. “But for once, he volunteered for something. The campground’snice, so I dragged a few of my roommates along too.”I glanced into the SUV.Two guys in the back were definitely Logan’s roommates.“What are you standing there for? Get in.” Logan looked at me, then seemed to realize something. “What, youwant to sit with Owen?”Blake’s brows tightened almost imperceptibly.I answered without hesitation.“Yeah.”Logan laughed and turned around.“Owen! You-”“Don’t make him get out.”I turned toward the van instead.“I’ll sit in that one.”Logan blinked.“But the smell-”“It’s fine.”I smiled at Owen, who had looked over from the other vehicle, and handed him my bag.“Come on.”Blake’s outstretched hand froze in midair. He didn’t say anything, but his jaw tightened. The disappointment in his eyes was impossible to miss.Logan noticed too.He narrowed his eyes at Blake.“Can’t bear to let my sister go now? Where was that energy earlier?”Blake lowered his voice.“What’s going on between Sophie and that guy?”Logan grinned.“Can’t you tell? She’s Owen’s plus–one.”Blake’s lashes flickered. He said nothing else and got back into the SUV.The campground wasn’t too far away.By the time we arrived, I felt okay enough.Once Logan made sure I wasn’t too carsick, he happily abandoned me with Owen and disappeared.I gave Owen an apologetic smile.“You don’t have to stay with me. I’ll explain things to Logan. Go have fun.”I had already used him as a shield enough.Owen lifted a brow.“What makes you so sure I don’t want to hang out with you?”1 shrugged.“Instinct. You don’t look at me like that.”Owen laughed and patted my shoulder.“I’m going to play paintball. Want to come? I’ll grab your gear.”I nodded and sat down under a tree to wait.My motion sickness wasn’t severe, but I still felt slightly nauseous.I closed my eyes and rested until footsteps approached.“You-”Something cold touched my forehead. My eyes flew open.Blake was crouched in front of me.“Open your mouth,” he said quietly.I obeyed before my brain caught up.A hard mint slipped between my lips, and cool peppermint flooded my mouth.Blake placed a pack of mints and motion–sickness medicine in my hand.“Take the medicine before we drive back.”It took me a few seconds to answer.“Thanks, Blake.”His brows pulled together slightly, but he didn’t say anything. He only switched hands and kept the cold water bottle pressed to my forehead.Everything around us was quiet. The sun was warm, the air smelled like grass, and Blake carried that faint woody scent I remembered. For two more seconds, I let myself lean into the cold bottle and the moment. Then I exhaled and reached up.“I can hold it myself, Blake.”Blake moved my hand away.“It’ll make your hand cold.”I looked at him.“Aren’t you worried your girlfriend will get upset?”Blake lowered his eyes to mine.“I don’t have a girlfriend.”I gave a short, disbelieving laugh and stood up.“Don’t lie. That girl deserves better than that. I’m leaving, Blake. Thanks, Blake.”Blake tried to say something else, but I didn’t want to hear it.Owen had just come back, so I grabbed him and walked away as fast as I could.“Are you trying to take off?”Owen stumbled along behind me, laughing.“What’s back there, a monster?”“Close enough.”I adjusted my paintball gear and pouted.“A guy who has a girlfriend and still keeps coming over to me. Bad for everyone involved.”Owen’s expression turned strange for a moment. He didn’t say anything. We went into the paintball field. It was my first time playing, and I was terrible. The second I exposed myself, I got hit.Every single time.“Ah-”Another paintball burst against me, and colored dye splashed across my face. Some of it got into my eye.Pain hit immediately.“You okay?”Owen stopped the game.“I’ll take you to rinse it out.”My eye hurt too much to open.I couldn’t see where I was going and kept stumbling. The hand gripping my arm was the only thing keeping me steady.Cool water finally washed over my face.Bit by bit, the dye rinsed away and the pain eased.I let out a breath.“Much better.”The person in front of me didn’t answer. He rinsed my eye one more time, then gently wiped the water from my eyelid.I carefully opened my eyes. After the first sting passed, my vision cleared.“Tha-”The word died in my throat.I stared at Blake.“Why is it you again? Where’s Owen?”The concern on Blake’s face disappeared instantly.Something faintly wounded entered his voice.“Do you like him that much? You have to look for him every second?”I stared at him, half annoyed and half amused.“Shouldn’t I be asking you that? Do you like me that much? You have to keep-”“Yes.”Blake cut me off.His gaze locked onto mine.“I like you that much.”My heart slammed once.It took me several seconds to find my voice.“Stop messing with me. You don’t like me. I heard you say it yourself.”“I was-” Blake began urgently.“Sophie!”Logan came rushing over.“What happened to your eye?”I exhaled.“It’s fine now. I rinsed it out.”Logan glanced at Blake, then deliberately raised his voice.“Good. Come eat. Owen makes great barbecue. You should have a lot.”I answered and walked away with him without looking back at Blake. That night, we stayed in tents.I had never slept outside before and wasn’t used to it.I woke up freezing once in the middle of the night.By morning, my nose felt stuffy.Everyone else was having fun, so I didn’t mention it.By evening, though, I couldn’t stop sneezing and blowing my nose.Logan finally noticed.“Are you getting sick?”My head felt heavy and my throat hurt.I didn’t feel like talking.“I’m fine. I’ll take medicine when I get back.”Blake frowned.“I have cold medicine in my car. I’ll get it.”When he came back, I looked at the label and sighed.“I’m allergic to this one.”“At least you don’t have a fever.”Logan touched my forehead.“Go back early, take whatever you can safely take, and sleep. You’ll probably be fine tomorrow.”That was what I thought too.Unfortunately, life had other plans.I woke up in the middle of the night feeling miserable everywhere.I found a thermometer.103.6°F.Because I got sick easily and had multiple medication allergies, the campus clinic didn’t want to give memedication casually. So I called Logan.“I’ll be there in twenty minutes,” he said immediately.Twenty minutes later, though, the SUV waiting outside my dorm belonged to Blake.I came downstairs wrapped in a coat.“Where’s Logan?”Blake walked over and wrapped another coat around me.“He slipped in the shower tonight and twisted his ankle. He can barely take care of himself, much less you.”His palm went naturally to my forehead. His brows tightened.“Why are you this hot?”I sniffed.“I’m almost at a hundred and four. I’m basically cooked.”Blake’s face darkened.Without another word, he picked me up, carried me to the SUV, and drove straight to the hospital.Somewhere on the way, the fever turned my brain to mush. The next thing I clearly remembered, I was sitting in an IV treatment area with a line in my arm.The second I moved, Blake leaned closer.“What hurts?”My thoughts were foggy.Everything hurt.My voice came out thick with tears.“My head hurts. My back hurts. My throat hurts. My butt hurts. Everything hurts.”Blake stroked my cheek, the concern in his eyes almost painful to look at.“What would make you feel better? Want me to hold you, baby?”His voice was so gentle, so full of care, that my eyes instantly filled.“No!”I shoved at him and burst into tears.“I hate you. Go away.”
