He Called Me Dirty, He Was The One Cheating Chapter 09

The car merged into traffic, leaving the arrogant man far behind.

I leaned back in my seat and let out a long, heavy breath.

“Thank you,” I said to Jonathan.

Jonathan kept his eyes on the road and spoke gently.

“Don’t thank me. You’re the one who walked out on your own.”

Back in Chicago, inside his office at Sterling Corp, Damon was wound so tight he looked ready

to snap. He hadn’t gone home in two days.

The ashtray on his desk was stuffed with cigarette butts.

The assistant knocked and came in carrying two encrypted investigation reports.

“Mr. Sterling, I have the results of what you asked me to look into.”

The assistant’s voice shook. She didn’t even dare to lift her head.

Damon crushed out his cigarette, his voice hoarse. “Read.”

“The first report is about your wife.” The assistant swallowed and opened the file. “The school

records from her high school show that during her sophomore year, she did have an accident in gym class. She fell from the uneven bars and suffered a severe vaginal tear.”

“The hospital admission records and doctor’s diagnosis are all here.”

Damon’s pupils shrank. The fingers holding the cigarette trembled slightly.

The assistant turned to the next page. “In the months before she married you, because of the frequent gynecological exams, she developed severe PTSD.”

“She saw a therapist for two full years without telling you.”

“The therapist’s notes say she developed an extreme fear of hospital smells, and even of being touched by men.”

A sharp crack

Damon’s lighter hit the desk.

His mind suddenly flashed through countless images from the past three years.

The flicker of hurt in her eyes every time he avoided her hand.

The way her shoulders shook when he sent her to the hospital.

Those eight exams. He was the one who had personally pushed her into hell.

And with a single word, “disgusting,” he had sentenced her to three years of death.

“And the second report?” Damon’s voice shook uncontrollably, as if he were barely holding something back.

The assistant took a deep breath and opened the second report.

“It’s about Lauren Vance.”

“The investigation shows that before she joined the company, she was seeing several men at

the same time. Some of them were regulars in Chicago’s wealthy social circles.”

The assistant’s voice grew quieter. “According to her hospital prenatal records, the gestational age of her pregnancy doesn’t match your timeline.’

“She got pregnant two full weeks before that night.”

A dull roar filled Damon’s head, and the room seemed to tilt.

He’d spent three years believing Elena was the one who was dirty.

He’d shamed her with cruel words and punished her with cold indifference, all while playing the righteous judge.

But the only filth in that marriage had been him.

He had been like a blind man, crushing the purest heart under his feet while worshipping a completely rotten woman.

“Damon!”

The office door flew open. Mrs. Sterling hurried inside, her face still clouded with displeasure.

“Why haven’t you come home these past few days? Lauren’s morning sickness is terrible, and you won’t even go check on her!”

“Forget that ungrateful Elena. But you can’t ignore the Sterling family’s grandson!”

Damon stared at his mother and suddenly began to laugh.
