Wrong Brother But Make Him Mine Chapter 03

Wrong Brother But Make Him Mine Chapter 03

After about forty minutes, the car pulled up in front of a modern villa.

Adrian helped me lift my suitcase out of the trunk, then walked toward the entrance first.

I hurried after him. The second I stepped inside, I froze.

The house was huge, the kind of place that felt empty no matter how much furniture you put in it.

Aside from the necessary furniture, the living room had almost no decoration. Everything looked cold and bare.

Even the curtains were the same dark gray, without a single trace of warmth.

An older house manager with graying hair came over with a smile and took the bag from my hand.

“You must be Miss Pierce. Mr. Whitmore called ahead. Your room has already been prepared. It’s the first room on the right upstairs.”

I thanked him, looked around for a while, then could not help asking quietly, “Mr. Whitaker, does he usually live here alone? Where is everyone else?”

Mr. Whitaker looked troubled. He lowered his voice and said, “His father is busy with business. He barely comes home a few times a year.”

“Adrian has been boarding since elementary school. Before this, he lived alone in the old family house, but there was a massive electrical fire. Half the place burned down. He almost didn’t get out alive.”

“After that, he moved here. Since then, he hasn’t talked much, keeping mostly to himself. These years have been lonely.”

My heart clenched hard.

Adrian had just finished putting away my luggage and was coming down the stairs.

His head was lowered as he looked at his phone, the sharp line of his profile looking cold under the light.

My eyes reddened at once.

The more I thought about it, the worse I felt.

No wonder he had changed so much.

“Adrian.”

I threw myself into his arms.

Adrian instinctively lifted his hands to steady my shoulders, then lowered his eyes to look at me.

His gaze paused on my tear-streaked face.

The hand that had probably meant to push me away stopped in midair.

I looked up at him and said seriously, “You’ve had such a hard time all by yourself all these years. But from today on, it’s different.”

“I’ll stay with you. We’ll never be separated again.”

He froze for a moment.

Then he let out a soft laugh.

“Are you sure?” he asked.

I gave a frantic nod.

He raised an eyebrow, but said nothing. He only lifted a hand and ruffled my hair.

Standing there, I secretly swore to become the best sister in the world and give him back all the warmth he had lost.

That very night, I began my family-bond restoration plan.

“Adrian, Adrian, Adrian!”

The door opened. He had probably just showered. His hair was still half damp, and he had changed into a set of deep blue loungewear that made his pale skin look almost translucent.

When he saw me standing at his door with a pillow in my arms, his eyes narrowed slightly.

I did not give him a chance to refuse.

I ducked under his arm, slipped into the room, ran to his bed, tossed my pillow onto it, then climbed up and sat cross-legged.

“Remember how you used to tell me bedtime stories every night?” I asked, patting the mattress.

“Do you remember how you used to tell me bedtime stories every night?”

“I forgot.”

He leaned against the doorframe without moving.

“Then just tell me anything. I promise I’ll leave after I hear one. I absolutely won’t bother you.”

I raised three fingers in a mock scout’s honor.

Adrian stared at me in silence for a few seconds. In the end, he walked over and sat down on the edge of the bed.

“Give me three minutes.”

“Okay.”

I leaned closer with a shamelessly flattering smile and tried to make conversation.

“Are you scrolling through Instagram?”

Adrian’s fingers paused. Then he turned the screen toward me.

“What do you think of this guy?”

It was a photo from someone’s feed.

In the picture, he wore a navy windbreaker standing on a summit, grinning like he owned the world.

I tested the waters carefully. “Your friend?”

“Something like that.”

Adrian raised an eyebrow.

Okay.

Message received.

Then I did not need to hold back.

I cleared my throat and went all in.

“That jacket is ugly. His smile is way too big, so he looks kind of dumb. His hair color is basic, and he’s posing like a try-hard peacock. As for his overall vibe…”

I stole a glance at Adrian, then delivered my verdict with full confidence.

“He can’t compare to you at all.”

The corner of Adrian’s mouth lifted by approximately two pixels.

“Can you tell me a story now?” I asked quickly, taking advantage of the moment.

Adrian’s voice was low and deep, droning on with the rhythmic boredom of a calculus lecture.

In less than five minutes, I could not hold on anymore.

I really fell asleep.

In my haze, I felt someone helplessly tuck the blanket around me.

Then the light went off, and the door closed softly.

Adrian leaned against the wall in the hallway and pulled up the post.

Slowly, he typed a comment beneath it.

Adrian:[My sister thinks you’re mid.]

Less than ten seconds after the comment posted, Adrian’s phone exploded.

Notifications came in one after another.

Then a call came through. The voice on the other end was so loud that Adrian had to move the phone away from his ear.

“What the hell? You definitely poisoned her against me, didn’t you?”

“I’m handsome, charming, and devastatingly attractive. The line of people chasing me could stretch all the way to France.”

“Wait. Hold on. Your sister? Since when do you have a sister?”

A lively, bright smile flashed through Adrian’s mind.

His lips curved faintly, and his voice stayed calm.

“She fell out of the sky.”

Then, ignoring the furious ranting on the other end, he hung up without hesitation.
