Reborn to Marry the Right Mafia Brother Chapter 07

Reborn to Marry the Right Mafia Brother Chapter 07

I frown.

Sure enough, she is just as irrationally crazy as she was in my previous life.

“Let go of me.”

I struggle, trying to pry her hand away.

The next second, the restroom door is thrown open.

Lucien walks in.

He doesn’t ask a single question. He simply kicks Simone away.

“Disrespecting the Don’s wife.”

He stands in front of me, his voice cold enough to freeze the air.

“Do you know what that costs you?”

Lucien grabs my hand and pulls me behind him, shielding me as he looks down at Simone, who is sprawled on the floor.

Of course, I know what the punishment is.

The Falcone Family’s underground cells.

In my previous life, Simone once does everything she can to have me thrown in there. The place is

cold and damp, with no sunlight year-round. The corners are crawling with rats, cockroaches, and

snakes.

Very few people who go in ever come back out looking the same.

Simone clearly knows that too.

Her face turns white instantly.

“Don Falcone, please. I didn’t mean to.”

“Please don’t do this to me.”

But Lucien’s expression doesn’t change.

Once this man makes a decision, he never changes his mind because someone begs him to.

He doesn’t even deal with her himself. Instead, he coldly calls for Dante.

“Take her downstairs.”

Dante’s face darkens.

But in front of Lucien, he can only lower his head.

“Yes, brother.”

At the same time, I hear his thoughts.

[She’d be better off dying down there. All she ever does is cause trouble.]

Simone is dragged away in despair.

Lucien, meanwhile, keeps hold of my wrist and takes me back to our suite.

He lifts my chin and carefully checks my scalp and forehead.

“Are you hurt?”

“I’m fine.”

I push his hand away and fix my messy hair myself.

“She just pulled my hair a few times.”

Then I look up at him.

“But why did you suddenly come to the restroom?”

Lucien’s green eyes rest quietly on me.

“You were gone too long.”

“I just wanted to see if something had happened.”

I think for a moment before adding, “And I wanted to ask why you got into another fight with her.”

I can’t exactly tell him that Simone has been reborn and is deliberately targeting me, so I can only

make up an excuse.

“She said she and Dante are happy together every day, unlike you, who hasn’t even touched me, That’s why we got into an argument.”

The moment the words leave my mouth, Lucien’s expression changes slightly.

“So that’s what this is about?”

I freeze.

He takes a step closer.

“Are you trying to tell me something?”

Only then do I realize he has misunderstood me, and I immediately wave my hands.

“No. No, that’s not what I meant.”

“I was just telling you why we got into an argument.”.

Lucien stares at me in silence for a moment.

“Annette,

have you ever thought about sleeping with me?”

“Of course not.”

My answer comes without hesitation.

“I already told you. I married you because I want to live a peaceful life.”

“That’s all.”

“Is that really all?”

“That’s really all.”

I nod firmly.

Lucien looks at me for several seconds but says nothing.

The next moment, he turns and walks out, slamming the door behind him.

I stand there, completely confused, with no idea what I said to upset him.

But whatever.

I have no interest in trying to guess what goes on inside a Don’s mind.

I just need to carry out my own plan.

The next day, Lucien doesn’t take me to headquarters.

Instead, he sends me directly to one of the Family’s subsidiaries.

And so, I finally begin focusing on a business of my own.

My goal is simple.

Make enough money and leave myself a way out.

Over the following days, I spend almost every day running between the company and clients, negotiating projects, signing contracts, and handling accounts.

Before long, the company begins turning a considerable profit.

Madre Audrey even personally tells me that, according to Family rules, I can take the compensation

I am entitled to from the profits I generate.

Just as I am throwing myself into work, Simone is released from the underground cells.

That day, when I return to the Falcone estate after work, I see her standing in the main hall.

After only a few days, she has visibly lost weight.

But she is still wearing carefully applied makeup and an expensive dress, desperately trying to preserve the last of her dignity.

With her arm linked through Dante’s, she walks toward me step by step.

“Annette.”

She is smiling.

“I’ve already asked Madre for permission. Starting tomorrow, I’ll be learning about the company from you, and I can help take some of the pressure off your shoulders too.”

Before I can answer, I hear Dante’s thoughts.

[Soon, I’ll send you and Lucien straight to hell.]

My heart suddenly sinks.

In my previous life, Lucien dies without warning.

So it is Dante.

And in this life, he doesn’t just want Lucien dead.

He has no intention of sparing me either.

I force down the emotions surging inside me and look at Simone.

“Of course.”

“Come to the company tomorrow.”

I agree on purpose.

Since they are willingly placing themselves right under my nose, this is the perfect chance to find out exactly what they are planning.

The next second, Simone’s thoughts enter my ears.

[What an idiot.]

[Just wait. Soon, I’ll get rid of both of you and have everything the Falcone Family owns all to myself.]

I almost laugh.

Apparently, spending a few days in the underground cells hasn’t taught her a thing.

If anything, it has made her even more determined.

Unfortunately for her, there is one thing she doesn’t know.

Those dirty little plans in her head are no secret to me.

How could she possibly hurt me?
