My Brother’s Girlfriend Set Rules For Me, Until Karma Came For Her Chapter 05

Grayson knelt.

He knelt right there, facing my direction.

“Sienna, I’m sorry. I’ve been an idiot the past couple days. I made you miserable. Please don’t be

mad.”

“Your birthday was a disaster. Pick a day. I’ll make it up to you. Just the two of us, okay?”

“Name whatever you want. I’ve got money. I’ll give you every last cent if that’s what it takes.”

Paige was stunned.

When she snapped out of it, she tried to pull him up.

“What are you doing?”

“You’re the son. The heir. She’s just the daughter. She’ll get married and be gone someday. What

are you so scared of?”

Grayson pulled his hand away and kept kneeling.

“Stop it, okay? Married or not, she’s my sister! God strike me dead if I don’t treat her right!”

Paige cried. “Grayson, are you insane? I’m your girlfriend! I’m your future wife!”

“You just swore to God for her, right in front of me. And you still want to tell me there’s nothing going on between you two?”

. Smack-

Alma rushed up and slapped her.

“Who the hell do you think you are, you trash? Watch your mouth!”

Paige covered her face and screamed.

“You’re just staff. What gives you the right to hit me? How dare you?”

I stepped in front of Alma, my eyes ice-cold.

“We don’t have ‘staff’ like that in the Whitmore house. Besides, why she hit you-don’t you know?”

Paige shoved Grayson, who was still kneeling. “Grayson, are you just going to watch other people

bully me? Are you even a man?”

Grayson held it in, but then the words came out.

“What the hell, Alma? You don’t hit my girlfriend. She’s a guest in this house.”

“You’ve worked for this family for years. We’ve always treated you right. Never missed a paycheck. So what gives you the right to hit a guest in this house?”

Alma stood her ground.

“You’re blind, Mr. Grayson. No guest talks to Miss Sienna like that. If I hadn’t slapped her-”

“Enough!” Grayson shot up from the floor and pointed at Alma.

“Alma, I didn’t want to embarrass you after all these years, but you’re ungrateful.”

“You’re done. Don’t come back. I’ll still pay you for the month. And don’t say we did you wrong.”

Alma was stunned for a moment, then calm returned.

She said nothing more and turned to pack.

I grabbed her and stared hard at Grayson. “What is wrong with you? Alma has been like family to us

all these years-”

Grayson looked helpless.

“Since when did the Whitmore family change its name to Reyes? Sienna, you’re the one who needs

to wake up.”

Alma gently pulled free from my hand and smiled. “Miss Sienna, don’t speak for me. I’m old and

useless now.”

Paige still seemed unsatisfied.

She took out her iPhone and snapped several photos of Alma.

“What are you doing?” I said sharply.

She kept fiddling with her phone, smug.

“What else? I’m exposing her. She’s got no morals.”

“I’m gonna post her picture in every nanny and housekeeping group on Facebook and Nextdoor.

Let’s see who hires her after that.”

A vein pulsed in my temple.

I knew Mom and Dad would never agree to fire Alma, but if Paige posted exaggerated lies, not only

would Alma face baseless gossip, the entire Whitmore family would become a joke to the country-club set.

I rushed at her to grab her phone.

Having just been slapped, Paige dodged fast.

She also shoved me with all her strength.

The sharp corner of the coffee table scraped hard across my lower back.

On my pure white cotton pajamas, blood bloomed instantly.

Grayson panicked. “Sienna!”

Bang-the front door was thrown open.

Then the familiar sound of high heels striking marble hit my ears.

Grayson’s expression changed drastically. He quickly resumed his kneeling position.

The next second, Mom’s voice rang out, shaking with fury.

“Grayson! Get out here!”
