My Mate Killed Me For My Sister, I Became Luna Of His Enemy Chapter 15

My Mate Killed Me For My Sister, I Became Luna Of His Enemy Chapter 15 The Address

Bella’s POV

The Alpha’s chair was more comfortable than I expected.

I’d never sat in it before. It had always been Silas’s. And before Silas, it had been his father’s.

The entire pack was watching me. They were confused. They were shocked. They were in awe.

They’d all believed I was dead. So seeing me here was jarring. And seeing me here on the arm of one of the most powerful, respected alphas in the territory was even more jarring.

They didn’t quite know what to make of it. It was written all over their faces.

It had been a month since Caleb took me to his pack. I was fully recovered now. And I was stronger than I’d ever been. Our Moon Mate bond allowed our wolves to feed off one another. They fed of each other’s strength and energy. His alpha wolf’s strength fed Snow.

Together, we were very, very powerful.

It had been Caleb’s idea, to come tonight. I knew the pack would be holding the mid-summer banquet. It seemed like the perfect time, since the entire pack would be gathered. It had been a dramatic entrance.

It had been perfect.

Seeing the stunned look on Silas’s face had been worth it. The grovelling at my knees had just been icing on the cake.

That wasn’t what I’d come for though. Not really.

I’d come for the pack.

Caleb sat down to my right, a solid and warm presence at my side. The Moon Mate

hummed between us.

Silas had stood up, but he was visibly shaking.

Good.

He should be shaking. He had good reason to shake.

The entire room was silent. Everyone waited to see what I’d do next. I’d already taken the Alpha’s chair. Now they wanted to hear what I had to say.

“Howling Moon Pack,” I said, addressing them. My voice carried through the hall. “You deserve to know what happened to me. Not the version you were told. The real version.”

I laid it out. Factually, without embellishment or melodrama. The facts spoke for themselves.

I told them about my diagnosis and the treatment that existed. I told them that money could have saved me. I told them how Silas refused to fund it because Madison convinced him I was lying.

I told them about the contract, about how it was presented to me as a Rebirth Ritual. I told them I was trying to save my sister. I told them I trusted the people who had given it to me. I told them about the banquet. The forged contract. It had all been lies. I’d never poisoned my sister. I would never do that. I could never do that.

I recounted the dungeon. I’d been locked away for a crime I didn’t commit. I calmly talked about the guards. The way I was beaten within an inch of my life. And that Silas hadn’t even cared.

Then I told them about the wizard’s table and the extraction. I described the way it felt to have Snow ripped from my body.

They gasped. They whispered. A woman in the third row put her hand over her mouth. A warrior I vaguely recognized stood up and sat back down and stood up again, as if his body couldn’t decide what to do with the information.

I didn’t raise my voice. I didn’t cry. I presented the truth with calmness.

“Silas didn’t just fail me,” I said. “He failed you, too. There are things you need to know about the pack. The pack treasury is nearly empty. It’s been drained by Madison’s unchecked spending and the cost of the extraction ritual. Your military is weakened. Five senior warriors have defected. The Crescent Blood Moon Pack has crossed your borders three times in the past month. Your Alpha was so busy managing his personal life that he forgot he had three hundred wolves depending on him to keep them safe.”

My words sunk in. Slowly, they all realized that the pack was in real danger. And that they’d been lied to by their alpha.

The murmurs were growing louder. They were angry. I watched the anger spread through the room, wolf by wolf. The warriors straightened up. The elders leaned forward. Mothers pulled their children closer. This was their pack, their safety, their future.

And right now, their future was compromised.

Just then, a woman pushed forward. Her face was frantic. Her voice was panicked.

“He needs to answer for what he’s done,” she declared loudly.

Silas was backing away, trying to slink towards the crowd. His eyes were wide with fear. All heads turned to him. He looked like a coward.

“Lock him up,” someone hollered.

“Exile him,” someone else said.

Everyone started shouting at once. They were all turning on him. Now that the truth was out about the pack, they pack was demanding justice. Their anger was like music to my ears. I didn’t feel the least bit sorry for Silas. He had brought this all on himself. He deserved everything that was coming to him.

THIS was the real reason I’d returned to the pack.

“We can’t do that,” an elderly man said, stepping forward. “Silas it the alpha of the

pack. He needs to stand before the council. Only the council can decide his fate. It’s not up to us to decide.”

Everyone fell silent.

Silas locked eyes with me. He looked so small, so pathetic and weak. I knew that he was going to have to stand trial. And I knew that the council would find him guilty on all accounts.

They would demand that he be ripped of his title.

But Caleb and I had a different plan.

With a sly smile, I waved my hand in the air.

“You are right,” I said. All heads turned back to me. “Guards, seize him. Lock him up in the dungeon. Keep him there until the council assembles. He will stand trail. And he will pay for what he’d done.”

No one knew it yet, but he would pay all right.

Just not in the way anyone thought.
