I Only Wanted Luxury Shopping, and Accidentally Saved the Whole Family Chapter 13

Richard’s voice echoed through the vast living room with unquestionable professionalism and respect.

The entire residence fell into an eerie silence, broken only by the soft hiss of the humidifier.

The magnifying glass slipped from Veronica’s hand, landing softly on the carpet.

Sloane’s mouth gaped slightly open, looking at me as if meeting a stranger.

Conrad leaned back in his armchair, breathing heavily.

Ezra stared at me, his eyes filled with sheer disbelief.

Asher’s face turned completely purple. He glared at the phone on the coffee table as if it were a terrifying specter.

“That’s impossible…” Asher gritted out through his teeth, his gentle facade completely shattered. “You think you can fool me with some actor on the phone?”

He lunged forward, trying to grab the phone.

Ezra reacted in a flash, slamming a hand onto Asher’s shoulder and pinning him firmly in place.

“Richard,” I said, leaning back into the couch with my hands clasped over my knees, ignoring Asher’s helpless rage. “Someone came to the Kensingtons waving mortgage papers for those three mines, trying to force a takeover. Look into which shell company is behind this.”

The sound of rapid keyboard clicking came through the phone.

A few seconds later, Richard’s voice turned icy. “I found it. It’s a shell company registered in the Cayman Islands called ‘Stellar Capital.'”

“They used forged power-of-attorney documents and outdated survey data to secure high-leverage mortgages through underground money laundering networks. The mastermind is a man named Asher Locke.”

Richard paused. “Should I notify Interpol immediately and freeze all associated accounts?”

I looked up at Asher. His face was beyond pale, cold sweat dripping down his forehead, his legs trembling.

“Freeze the accounts first,” I ordered nonchalantly. “And return the cash flow they drained from the Kensington Group back to its original account. Have it done within ten minutes.”

“Understood, Boss.”

The call disconnected.

I picked up my coffee cup and raised it toward Asher.

“Mr. Locke.” I smiled. “It seems your final card is useless.”

Asher violently broke free from Ezra’s hold and pointed a finger at me, shouting hysterically. “Willow, stop playing tricks! You’re nothing but a parasite the Kensingtons keep around.”

“How could you possibly own those three top-tier gold mines? Do you have any idea what those cost?” He shrieked in desperation, “That’s tens of billions of dollars in assets! Who do you think you are?”

Veronica and Sloane looked at me as well, their eyes equally filled with utter disbelief.

In their eyes, I was merely a brainless gold digger who spent every day going on insane shopping sprees in Beverly Hills, caring only about Hermes rare leather allocations and maxing out Ezra’s card.

I stood up and walked over to Asher, the crisp rhythm of my high heels echoing softly.

“Who do you think I am?” I asked him back. “While buying bags, I happened to buy out the entire rare leather supply chain for Hermes.”

I looked into his dilated pupils, wide with absolute shock, my tone remaining entirely calm.

“Did you really think I went to Beverly Hills just to buy bags?”
