Sorry, Alpha. You’re Not His Dad Anymore Chapter 04

Sorry, Alpha. You’re Not His Dad Anymore Chapter 04

I didn’t turn around.

I tightened my grip on Theo’s hand and walked out of the manor.

The Lycan King’s car had been waiting beyond the gates all night.

Just as the car door was about to close, an unrestrained wolf’s roar erupted from inside the

manor.

“Aria!”

Damian ran barefoot into the snow, clutching the four documents I had left behind.

He didn’t apologize. He only crushed Theo’s petition to sever his bloodline affiliation in his fist.

“Aria, withdraw your resignation. Who gave you permission to submit a petition to sever Theo’s

bloodline?”

“We weren’t asking for your permission.”

His gaze moved past me and landed on Theo.

“Go back inside. Don’t make me teach you the rules in front of outsiders.”

Theo took a step back.

“I’m not going back.”

The black wolf’s power slammed down. Theo’s face went white.

An even stronger force rose beside the car and wrapped protectively around him.

A tall man stepped out of the vehicle, his silver eyes cold in the snowstorm.

Rowan Vale.

The Lycan King who ruled the 13 packs of the North.

He didn’t make my choice for me. He simply stood close enough that I could reach him by lifting one hand.

“Dr. Bennett, do you confirm that you wish to leave?”

“I do.”

Rowan crouched until he was level with meo.

“Do you want to go with your mother or stay here?”

Damian snarled, “He is my biological pup!”

Rowan ignored him.

Theo clung tightly to my hand.

“I’m going with Mom.”

Rowan nodded and opened the car door for us.

Only when Theo lifted his foot to climb inside did the certainty on Damian’s face finally crack.

“Theo, come back.”

For the first time, his voice was hoarse.

“Dad will take you home.”

Theo had waited 6 years to hear that word.

But after a brief silence, he lowered his head with perfect obedience.

“Alpha Damian, I don’t have a dad.”

All the color drained from Damian’s face.

Theo hadn’t misspoken.

He hadn’t broken a rule.

Yet the lesson Damian had carved into him with his own hands had finally turned back on Damian

himself.

He seized my wrist.

The mate mark burned wildly beneath his touch, and Lyla instinctively lunged toward his black wolf.

I pulled the last document from his hand: a unilateral rejection of our mate bond.

“I never agreed that you could leave.”

“6 years ago, I never agreed that my son should have to call his father Alpha.”

I cut my palm and pressed my blood into the Moon Goddess’s seal.

Silver flames raced across the page.

“I, Aria Bennett, reject Damian Blacktho

The bite mark hidden behind my shoulder split open.

Damian grunted and dropped to one knee in the snow.

Finally, he felt the pain that had torn through my mate mark every time he denied me over the past

6 years.

“Aria, take it back.”

I wrenched my hand free.

“You were right, Alpha. The rules don’t change.”

I lifted Theo into the car and got in beside him.

Before the door closed, Damian abandoned his commanding tone for the first time.

“Theo, please call me Dad one more time.”

Theo buried his face against my neck.

“Mom, let’s go.”

The wheels crossed the Blackthorn border.

A unilateral rejection couldn’t immediately erase the mark left by a high-ranking Alpha, but it had torn a rift through our mate bond that could never be mended.

My vision went black with pain, but I held tightly to my son.

This time, no one would ever take him from me again.
