He Showed No Mercy When I Gave Birth Chapter 06 Where Is Iris?

Eleanor’s chest rose and fell sharply. The shock hit too hard, and she passed out on the spot. The servants rushed forward to catch her.

She was rushed to the ER. Meanwhile, Adrian’s arms and legs began to wither and stiffen, leaving him unable to step outside.

Rosalie could barely bring herself to look at him. She quickly turned his attention to the baby instead.

“Adrian, why don’t you choose Teddy’s formal name?”

Adrian glanced at the child, and for no reason, he thought of the son who had suffocated before he ever drew his first breath. His pupils tightened.

There was still no word from the servants about Iris. Then something suddenly struck him. Before Rosalie could stop him, he rushed into the ruined courtyard like a man possessed.

The hole beside the silk tree had been dug open. The soil around it was stained with dried blood, stark and horrifying.

Adrian’s face drained of color. He stumbled back two steps.

Only then did he realize why the metal box in my arms that night had looked so familiar. Back then, he had been too blinded by anger to think.

Iris, how dare you take it without my permission?

Adrian slammed his fist into the tree trunk. Blood seeped from his knuckles.

The fact that I had taken the divorce papers sent a sudden wave of panic through him. For the first time, he felt it clearly.

He might really lose me.

And if that little doll pierced full of needles had not been brought in by me, but planted there to frame

me…

He did not dare follow that thought any further.

Suspicion and doubt tangled together, pressing over his mouth and nose like a wet cloth. He could hardly breathe.

Rosalie rushed after him, still unaware of what he had discovered. Gathering her courage, she laid her hand over his wrinkled fist and softented her voice.

“Adrian, don’t hurt yourself like this. Teddy and I will be heartbroken.”

In the past, those words would have moved him. Now, they only made him impatient. Adrian pulled his hand away at once, avoiding her touch.

Rosalie’s eyes dimmed with hurt. Adrian paused, then said, “I’m just tired. Don’t overthink it.”

The Sterling family spent a fortune bringing in renowned spiritual masters, but every one of them took a single look at Adrian and shook his head.

Somehow, word of Adrian’s strange illness got out. The Sterling family’s side branches joined forces with senior executives at Sterling Group, and his position as CEO began to crumble.

Over the past two days, Adrian called me hundreds of times. Not a single call went through. At night, he drank until he could barely stand, only to find my phone lying in the grass.

Only then did he remember how afraid of pain I had always been. Every time I gave blood, I would squeeze my eyes shut and tremble all over, yet I still forced myself to give the full amount.

Back then, all it took was a few careless words of comfort from him, and I would feel completely satisfied. I had been willing to hand him my life.

When he first found out I was pregnant, happiness had hit him so hard he could barely believe it. He bought every kind of baby outfit he could find and filled an entire closet with them.

Then his older brother’s private plane crashed, and Rosalie returned from abroad with her pregnant belly. From that moment on, all his tenderness, all his hope for a child, shifted to Rosalie and her son.

That was when everything went wrong.

And yet, on the night before delivery, I had still reminded him that no matter what happened to me, he had to complete the final dose of blood.

Now our son had died by his hand.

And I was gone.

Adrian regretted it. But he still could not understand how I, the woman who had once loved him to the bone, could bear to leave him just like that.

As his body slowly hardened until he could only move around in a wheelchair, his regret twisted into resentment. He hated that Trefused to give him a chance to make things right. He hated that I had put a curse on him.

Adrian stayed by Eleanor’s hospital bed for three days and three nights. When the old woman finally opened her eyes, he said in a trembling voice, “Grandmother, you were the one who brought Iris to me. You must know where she is.”
