He Loved Me in Secret, Until I Became Someone He Could Never Have Chapter 11

A week later, Bellandi Holdings announced an expansion of the Grayhaven division.

Salaries well above industry average.

The announcement included one specific line: [Candidates with Rinaldi Holdings experience

preferred.]

Six resignations in one day.

Fourteen within three days.

By the end of the week, nearly half of Rinaldi’s core project team was gone.

They all had one thing in common.

They were people I’d personally trained.

Dominic left too.

He called Alessio. “I’m sorry. Bellandi’s offer was too good to turn down. And Vittoria called me

herself.”

Alessio stood in his increasingly empty office.

He let out a hollow laugh. Then his eyes went red. It finally hit him.

I’d never depended on Rinaldi.

It was the opposite. For years, a lot of people had stayed because of me.

Camilla’s downfall came fast. I didn’t use any Family-style justice.

I handed the evidence to lawyers and law enforcement. Email leaks, project theft, data tampering.

The investigation found more.

Camilla hadn’t just stolen my proposal. Her cousin had repeatedly altered project ownership records to transfer my performance metrics to her.

The cousin told investigators, “Camilla told me she was going to be a Rinaldi someday. She said if I helped her now, she’d take care of me later.”

The cruel irony? Alessio actually believed Camilla was exceptional because of those falsified

records.

And every time I noticed something wrong with my performance reports, I stayed quiet. Because I

assumed Alessio had allowed it.

In the end, Camilla faced criminal charges for illegal access to business data, theft of trade secrets,

and falsification of internal records.

The civil damages were enough to wipe out nearly everything she had.

She showed up at Bellandi’s Grayhaven office looking for me.

Security stopped her.

She dropped to her knees in the lobby. “Vittoria, I was wrong. I knew you and Alessio were together

the whole time.”

“I was jealous. You were better at the job. He loved you. Why did you get everything? I just wanted one thing for myself.”

“Please. Drop the charges.”

I stood there and looked at her for a long time.

“You didn’t take one thing. You took five years of someone’s work. And the last piece of trust I had in Alessio.”

“The law will decide what you owe.”

I turned and walked away.

I didn’t look back.
