“No. I’ll handle it myself.”

I said it softly, then turned back to Liam. “We broke up over a month ago, Liam. I’ve moved on..I don’t care about any of that anymore. Work is what matters to me now.”

His face crumpled. He grabbed my hand desperately. “Emma, I swear I never cheated. Why won’t you forgive me? Victoria and I were totally innocent. I’m sorry I postponed the wedding the dress size was a studio issue. I’ve fixed it all now. I’ll change anything. Just don’t leave me.”

I let out a hollow, bitter laugh. “You messed up the dress. You let strangers attack me online. You

married someone else. Your body stayed faithful, Liam, but your actions-they were worse, than

cheating.”

His expression dimmed, the light draining from his eyes.

He took the gown off the mannequin, still trying to win me back. “But I fixed it, Emma! It’s your size now-I altered it myself. I never wanted to break up with you. I know I took you for granted,

kept us hidden. But that stops now.”

He pointed at the camera. “The whole world knows you’re my fiancée now. Are you still leaving

me?”

I just looked at him steadily. “A dress that was already someone else’s? I don’t want it anymore. That’s it. I won’t accept your apology.”

And I turned around and walked away.

Liam didn’t follow. He turned to the live broadcast he’d set up to show our reconciliation, and instead used it to clear my name publicly.

The comments flooded in with apologies.

[We had no idea Liam lied for Victoria. You were his fiancée all along.]

But looking at those apologies, I felt nothing.

The vicious words they’d aimed at me before-they had hurt.

But Liam’s betrayal had cut far deeper.

Now? I was just completely hollow inside.

The chat turned on Liam and Victoria with renewed fury.
