The Eleventh Luna Rose Trial Chapter 07

The Eleventh Luna Rose Trial Chapter 07

The warriors carrying the rose seedlings stop, exchanging uneasy glances.

‘Helena.”

Olivia slowly walks toward me with a smile, as if none of the tension between us ever happened.

“I asked them to move them.”

I look at her, “You did?”

Olivia nods, “These rose seedlings were being wasted here.”

She points toward a spot farther away, “I checked it out. The sunlight is better there, and the soil is

more suitable. I thought I’d help you move them.“.

“After all, you’ve been holding everything together in the North by yourself for so many years. You

deserve someone to share the burden with you.”

As she speaks, she takes my hand.

“Helena, I always knew you’d succeed someday. But what does success mean if you don’t have your

family by your side? Lorelei and your brother miss you so much. Everything that happened before is

in the past.”

She gently squeezes my hand, “Why don’t we start over?”

I pull my hand away, leaving her fingers grasping at nothing. Her smile stiffens for a moment.

I quickly walk toward the rose seedlings that have been moved, crouch down, and brush away the

soil.

My fingers suddenly stop.

The roots are broken, and the plants have already begun losing moisture.

I check several more seedlings nearby.

One. Two. Ten. They’re all the same.

A rose farmer rushes over, and the moment he sees what happened, his face changes.

“Alpha Helena…”

He crouches down and carefully lifts a withered yellow leaf, “The mother plants‘ roots are

damaged. They can’t be saved.”

The entire area falls silent.

The smile slowly disappears from Olivia’s face.

“How could this happen? I only asked them to move them…”

The rose farmer shakes his head, “These aren’t ordinary rose seedlings. They’re Silver Frost Roses. Once their roots are damaged, the entire cultivation chain is broken.”

Olivia’s face turns pale, “I didn’t know. I only wanted to help her.”

She looks at me, her voice trembling.

“Helena, I never meant to hurt you. Can’t I even try to make up for the mistakes I made in the past?”

I look at her and suddenly let out a quiet laugh, “Make up for them?”

Olivia freezes.

I point at the damaged seedlings scattered across the ground.

“Do you know how many pack doctors, patients, and rose farmers in the North are waiting for this

batch to hit the market?”

“Do you know how much time and money they’ve invested in these new roses?”

“Do you know how many families are counting on these roses being turned into healing potions

that could save someone’s life?”

My voice grows colder with every word.

“And now you’re saying you didn’t know, and that makes it okay to erase all their hard work?”

Tears roll down Olivia’s cheeks, “I really didn’t do it on purpose.”

“You’ve said that before.”

The air seems to freeze.

Footsteps sound behind me.

“What happened?”

Nathan hurries over and stops at the entrance to the rose garden, his eyes sweeping over the

damaged seedlings scattered across the ground.

Olivia calls softly, “Nathan…”

He doesn’t respond. His gaze remains fixed on the withered seedlings for a long moment.

“How much is the loss? I’ll pay double the market price.”

The rose farmer beside me freezes.

I turn to Nathan, “Compensation?”

Nathan’s brows twitch, “Helena…”

I cut him off, “This isn’t about compensation. The Silver Frost Rose is the result of six years of my work. Do you have any idea how long it takes to establish commercial cultivation?”

I point to the ground beneath my feet.

“These aren’t ordinary seedlings that you can buy and replace. They’re priceless. Who was it that

once told me that?”

Nathan’s fingers tremble slightly.

More than a decade ago, a flood destroyed Rose Garden. He knelt among the ruins and said, “A rose farmer spends their entire life protecting their roses. They’re more precious than their own lives. Destroying their roses means destroying their hope.”

Olivia begins crying.

“Nathan, I really didn’t know… I only wanted to help Helena. I never thought it would be this

serious.”

Nathan closes his eyes, exhaustion weighing heavily on his face.

“I’ll take responsibility for this. You came South to discuss partnerships, and you were also interested in several rose gardens. I’ll give those rose gardens to you.”

I stare at him for a long moment, then let out a quiet laugh.

“How generous of the Alpha King.”
