Nolan stared at Dante in disbelief.

“Mr. Rossi, are you sure you have the right person? How could Grace Miller possibly be your niece?”

Dante had already ordered his men to lift me out of the trunk.

Only after confirming that I was unconscious but not in any immediate danger did he turn back to Nolan.

“I saw her with her parents at the Moretti estate not long ago.”

His eyes hardened.

“So tell me. Do you really think I’d mistake my own niece?”

Nolan’s face drained of color.

He stared at me, unable to say a word.

How could Grace possibly be connected to both the Moretti and Rossi Families?

Dante’s voice dropped.

“Why did you lay a hand on her?”

Nolan’s expression shifted again and again, but he kept his lips pressed shut and refused to answer.

Dante didn’t ask twice.

He motioned for his men to restrain one of Nolan’s subordinates, then pressed the muzzle of his gun against the man’s temple.

“You answer for him.”

“Keep your mouth shut and I’ll treat it as betrayal of the Family.”

The man’s legs nearly gave out.

He immediately told Dante everything.

“It was Miss Lina! Miss Miller took first place from her. The four heirs decided a girl with no backing had no right to rank above Lina. They saw it as a challenge to all four Families.”

“Mr. Hawthorne decided to get rid of her for good. He ordered us to take her out to Long Island Sound.”

Dante’s expression grew colder with every word.

“Lina Cole.”

He repeated the name slowly.

“Good.”

Then he gave an immediate order.

“Find that girl. Bring her to me.”

The guards turned to move.

Nolan finally snapped out of his shock and stepped forward to block them.

“Dante Rossi, don’t push it!”

“Lina is under my protection. If you touch her, you’re forcing the Hawthorne Family into a war with you!”

Neither side lowered their weapons.

The tension was seconds away from exploding when a voice came from behind them.

“Well, this looks lively.”

Adrian, Julian, and Ethan approached side by side and stopped beside Nolan.

Adrian looked at Dante with open hostility.

“Mr. Rossi, this is the territory of the four Families.”

“Lina is protected by our blood oath. If you touch her, you’re declaring war on all four Families at once.”

With the other three standing beside him, Nolan finally relaxed.

A smug smile even returned to his face.

“Powerful as the Rossis are, even you ought to think twice before taking on four Families at once.”

“Why don’t we end this here?”

Dante suddenly laughed.

Then he turned toward the helicopters and called out,

“Gentlemen, seems the Rossi name isn’t enough for them.”

“Why don’t you come down and show them exactly who came to pick Grace up today?”
