Mafia Heir, You Have 60 Seconds to Text Me Back Chapter 09

Mafia Heir, You Have 60 Seconds to Text Me Back Chapter 09

This time, after laying out the breakup terms, I blocked Alec Rossi for good.

For once, he didn’t try to contact me again.

I went back to my usual routine–attending lectures and picking up occasional freelance work.

As for all those luxury gifts Alec showered me with while pursuing me, I now had a perfectly legitimate excuse to deal with them: Heartbroken and dumped–selling everything.

After all, for someone from a normal, working–class background like me, high–end designer goods weren’t

anywhere near as practical as cold, hard cash.

I didn’t even bother hiding my resale listings from Alec. In fact, it was a stroke of luck that he found out. The

moment the floating comments alerted me that the anonymous buyer bidding up my listings was Alec Rossi

himself, I ripped him off without a shred of mercy.

I typed a single note under the listing: [A gift from the man I loved. But he doesn’t want me anymore.]

Just like that, a pile of useless designer gifts became $100,000 in my bank account.

Sienna wasn’t in a rush to approach Alec either.

She wasn’t stupid enough to offer him a shoulder to cry on right now–after all, she was one of the main

culprits behind the bet coming to light.

Instead, she spent her days keeping a razor–sharp eye on me.

By now, rumors that Alec had been dumped by his scholar girlfriend were making the rounds across

campus. A man as obsessed with his ego as Alec would certainly never spread that news himself.

In our dorm suite, Sienna leaned against the doorframe, her eyes pinned on me.

“You’re not angry at all?”

Without waiting for me to answer, she adopted a breezy, detached tone. “Honestly, I don’t even like Alec that

much anymore. Take away his face and his last name, and Silas treats me better than he ever did.”

She paused, crossing her arms. “Our families are finalizing the alliance terms right now. I tricked you once with that bet, so I’m being fully transparent with you this time.”

Sienna had a talent for making every sentence sound casual while aiming it directly at someone’s weak spot.

I finished organizing my desk and offered a completely insincere reply. “Your step–cousin is secretly in love

with you. Of course he treats you well.”

Sienna’s brows knitted tightly. In families like hers, even the suggestion of something incestuous was scandalous. How could anyone say something like that out loud so casually?

Always obsessed with maintaining her refined image, she fired back angrily, “Clara, stop spreading disgusting rumors.”

“Silas and I are never happening.”

I threw her words back at her. “Are you seriously that blind? Silas treats you infinitely better than he treats any of his actual girlfriends. Relax–you don’t actually share a single drop of blood with him. Once he finds out about that later, he’ll stop bothering with fake girlfriends altogether.”

I turned around to face her. “As for your alliance with Alec, if it’s already settled, why do you keep bringing it

up to me?”

“If you’re so sure you’re going to marry him, why do you need me to believe it so badly?”

Sienna’s face turned thoroughly dark.

Because I hit the nail right on the head.

When Alec Rossi liked someone, it was painfully obvious. The current Alec couldn’t care less about what Sienna liked or wanted, even though he used to cater to her every whim.

Floating comments erupted with question marks:

[Did Clara open her third eye, or is she a literal fortune teller?! How is every single prediction so dead

accurate?]

[I have no idea what the Mafia Prince is thinking! He acts like he can’t let Clara go, but he isn’t shutting down the family alliance either. He just stares at his old chat logs with Clara all day long. What is he looking at?]

[Is Alec really stupid enough to use a syndicate alliance just to spite Clara? I feel like that trick won’t work on

her at ALL.]

[Am I the only one asking why nobody has wired the $200,000 hush money to Clara yet…]

Seeing that $200,000 comment, my eyes slowly flicked back to Sienna.

“Actually,” I said in a measured, relaxed tone, “you could just pay me off to stay completely clear of Alec.”

“That way, you get the man, I get the cash, and everybody wins.”

Sienna’s pride wouldn’t let her agree that easily. She sneered, “I don’t stoop to such cheap tactics. Once the

alliance is officially signed, you and Alec are over. His parents would never accept someone like you

anyway.”

I added calmly, “Fifty thousand buys you one month of guaranteed no contact. I won’t answer his texts, calls,

or DMs.”

I turned my laptop screen toward her, showing the completed resale page. “Alec just bought these back at

three times the market value.”

Sienna recognized the ridiculous prices immediately. Seeing that Alec was practically bleeding money just to buy back things I threw away, the composure she had been clinging to shattered completely

Formalizing a syndicate marriage alliance would take weeks, if not months.

Gritting her teeth, she spat out, “Clara Crowe… I truly underestimated you!”

After observing me for the past few days, she had come to a horrifying realization: I genuinely didn’t care

about Alec Rossi.

She even began to suspect that I had intentionally exposed the bet myself.

Yet, she couldn’t find a shred of evidence to prove it.

“Aren’t you afraid I’ll tell Alec everything you just said to me?” she hissed.

I adjusted my glasses with absolute tranquility. “Be my guest.”

Unable to take the suffocating atmosphere in the dorm for another second, Sienna slammed the door and

stormed out in a rage.

An hour later, my bank account received a $50,000 transfer. She bought the first month.

The floating comments noted that their relationship made zero progress.

Shortly after, Sienna transferred another $50,000, paying for the second month.

I tapped back a text.

[Clara]: Your premium month of my non–interference has been processed. Pleasure doing business with your jealousy, Sienna.

The female lead blocked me immediately.

Meanwhile, Silas discovered he shared zero blood relation with Sienna much earlier than in the original storyline, kicking off his aggressive pursuit ahead of schedule.

As a result, he thoroughly offended Sienna, who cared about her reputation above all else.

When someone caught Silas making an overt move on her, rumors swept through the private Greek Life circles, leading to a complete and explosive fallout between Sienna and Silas.

Floating text flooded my vision:

[Who anonymously tipped off Silas via encrypted text telling him he isn’t blood–related to the female lead?!]

[Silas’s exes are ALL dragging him online right now for ghosting them, icing them out, and treating them like disposable props!]

I silently cleared my browser history and scrubbed my private messaging logs.

What could I say? Beneath the quiet, sweet honors–student act, I’d always been petty as hell.
