Sienna Vance didn’t return to the dorm suite until late that evening.

Her expression was dark and drained.

I picked up the floating text messages drifting across my field of vision:

[Because Alec skipped the raceway tonight, we lost the classic plot where he realizes Sienna gets severe cramps during her period and brings her a heating pad!]

I cast a glance over at Sienna.

Her face was deathly pale as she sat rigidly at her study desk, barely moving.

Tightening her jaw, she spoke up in a cold voice. “I really underestimated you, Clara.”

She paused, her eyes narrowing as she glared at me. “What kind of cheap tricks did you use to get Alec Rossi so fucking obedient?”

I made her a mug of hot tea and set it on her desk.

“My dynamic with Alec isn’t something I owe you a syllabus on, Sienna.”

Sienna’s stiff expression softened for a fraction of a second at the hot water, only to freeze cold again at my

words.

She didn’t speak another word to me for the rest of the night.

She didn’t touch the mug of water either.

The next afternoon, as we prepared to head out for the fraternity party, Sienna said smoothly, “Alec’s car happens to be heading the same way. I asked him to give us both a ride. You don’t mind, do you?”
