The Female Hybrid Everyone Hated Chapter 11

The Female Hybrid Everyone Hated Chapter 11

She said: “Yara, you know I can’t do that, the rules have already been set the moment the deal was sealed. You have to do it yourself.”

That broke me completely.

I lay on the bed. Every time I moved, a nurse asked what was wrong.

I was watched every second of every day.

It was on the third night of my recovery – if you could call lying mostly dead in a stone room recovering that Rose came.

THE DEVIL HERSELF PAID ME A VISIT

Something definitely was going to go wrong.

If not everything.

I heard her heels first. That distinctive click on the stone corridor that I had learned to dread over years.

She sent the nurses away.

She walked toward me slowly, silver hair loose over her shoulders, her face wearing that particular expression she reserved for moments when we were alone – not the performance she gave everyone else, just the bare cold thing underneath it.

She sat on the edge of my bed like she owned it.

“Isn’t it awful? Wanting to die but not being able to?”

“You know, it was my idea to put you in here. I told them it was for your protection. And they believed me.”

I didn’t react. This wasn’t the first time she’d done something like this.

“I can’t believe you would actually jump,” she said. Almost admiringly.

I said nothing. I couldn’t move much. My body was still knitting itself back together at a fraction of its normal speed.

“I’ll be honest,” she continued pleasantly, “I didn’t think you had it in you at all.” She tilted her head. “I guess I underestimated you. I won’t do that again.”

I watched her from the bed.

“Come one say something, i don’t like this quiet you” she said again yet i paid her no attention.

“Do you want to know something interesting?” She leaned forward slightly. “The Moon Goddess, Claire came to me too. Before she came to you.”

My eyes widened in shock as I turned immediately to face her.

What the fuck did she just say?

A small cunning smile appeared on her face. “And guess what? She offered me the same deal. To win over four supernatural males away from you and I’ll go home.”

I went still.

“Let me burst your brain Yara, we’re from the same world you know,” she continued and my eyes kept opening wider as my heart beat kept rising.

What the hell is going on right now?

How did she know about my original world?

Rose isn’t from this world too?

“You are lying!!”

“Oh really am I? should i remind you of the Modern world filled with beautiful cities, cars, ship, bike, train All of it.” She examined her nails casually.

She grabbed my chin.

“Do you know how much I hate you?”

“In the original world, you had a good job, a good family, everyone liked you.”

I froze.

She saw my confusion and laughed. “Surprised? Don’t be yet.”

“Now, here is the plot twist bitch”

“I was the one who hit you with my car and killed you!!”

“Did you work that out yet?” She leaned closer and whispered.

“WHAT?!”

OH MY GOD!

“You helped me once,” she said. Her voice shifted – something raw underneath the performance for just a moment. “In school. You chased away the people who made my life impossible. You did it because you felt sorry for me. You picked me” Her eyes came up to mine.

The Moon Goddess said only one of us could live.

“So I did what I had to do. I made them all hate you. And now? I’m one step away from winning. As soon as Dorian says he loves me, I’m done.”

As she spoke, her face began to blur and overlap with the face of a poor, bullied girl I’d once helped in my original life.

I remembered her. Everyone picked on her. I had a loving family, good grades, friends. She had nothing.

I felt sorry for her. I wanted to protect her.

I chased away the people who bullied her.

I thought she’d be grateful.

Instead, she hated me.

She was the one who hit me with her car. She was the one who sent me here.

Rage burned in my chest.

“I helped you. Why did you do this to me?”

Her face twisted with anger. “I didn’t ask for your help! I don’t want your charity. I’m not beneath you. We’re equals!”

So that was it. Helping her had bruised her ego.

But I never thought I was better than her.

“If I thought I was above you, I wouldn’t have helped you,” I said. “In my eyes, rich or poor, we’re all the

same.”

She didn’t listen. She just laughed and said I’d rot in this place forever.

“I hated you for that. Did you know that? That your pity was the thing I hated most?

“It wasn’t pity,” I said. My voice came out rougher than I expected. “I just didn’t think anyone deserved to be treated like that.”

“We’re not the same,” she snapped. Then controlled herself. Smoothed her expression back down. “The Moon Goddess told me only one of us could win. So I made sure it would be me.” She stood. Straightened her dress. “You never stood a chance Yara. I want you to know that going into whatever comes next. It was never a fair game.”

She walked to the door.

“Oh,” she said without turning around. “Enjoy the rest of your pathetic life”

The door closed behind her.

I lay in the dark for a long time.

“Claire…” I called her name inwardly and waited few seconds.

“Is what she said the truth”

“She’s not entirely wrong.” Claire said quietly. “I did approach her first. I did tell her only one of you could win.” A pause.

“But I lied to her. There was always room for both of you to go home. I just wanted to see what she would do with the information. Another pause, longer. “I didn’t expect her to do quite so much…No, I didn’t expect

I’ll get this attached to you”

I stared at the ceiling.

“You let this happen,” I said.

“Yes,” Claire said simply. “I did. I’m a god Yara. This is what we do just because we can do so for pleasure… We’re terrible at consequences.”

I had nothing else to say to that. I was tried and hopeless.

Rose was right. There was no way out.

I didn’t know what to do. Day after day, I lay there, counting sheep in my head.

Three days passed.

Then, one night something unexpected happened, a young man came.

He jumped from below the ground high up to the top and landed skillfully at the stone the window while the nurses were asleep.

I looked at him trailling the blood on his chest to his fangs and immediately recognize who it was.

It was Zane the Vampire king, the one who was impossible to meet and nonchalant to me.

What the fuck was he doing here??
