He Used His Secret Mistress for Revenge Chapter 10

He Used His Secret Mistress for Revenge Chapter 10 A Life Without Forgiveness

The days passed peacefully.

Little by little, I took over Father’s business and learned to handle every matter independently

My life became busy, steady, and fulfilling.

The suffocating misery of the past never returned.

Before I knew it, my birthday arrived.

Heavy rain had fallen throughout the previous night.

By morning, puddles covered the ground, and the air was damp and cool.

I stood beside the second-floor window wiping the glass.

Outside the fence, Vito stood alone beside the road beneath a black umbrella.

He had been there since early morning.

He remained until dusk without leaving once.

Rain soaked the cuffs of his suit pants, and the cold had seeped through his entire body.

Even so, he never took one step toward the house.

He only watched the window of my bedroom in silence.

Father came upstairs carrying a cup of warm milk.

He stopped beside me, followed my gaze outside, and gently patted my shoulder.

“There’s a draft by the window. Don’t stand here too long. Come sit down.”

I followed him to the sofa and held the warm cup between my palms.

Father looked at me.

His voice was serious but gentle as he finally expressed something he had kept inside for a long time.

“Laila, there’s something I need you to understand. You never have to force yourself to meet society’s expectations.”

I looked up at him.

“What do you mean, Dad?”

“You do not have to marry or start a family. You do not need to accept an alliance marriage and spend your life with someone you dislike, especially someone who has hurt you. You can stay here with me for the rest of your life if that is what you want.”

Tenderness filled Father’s eyes.

“Your mother and I did not bring you into this world because we expected you to continue our bloodline or marry someone to strengthen the family. We only wanted you to live safely, freely, and happily. Your happiness is what matters most.”

The hurt I had carried for so long finally dissolved.

For the first time in years, I smiled with genuine relief.

I had always feared Father would pressure me into marriage and force me to accept whatever arrangement benefited the family.

Instead, he respected my choice completely.

I leaned against his shoulder.

“Dad, would it be all right if I never married and stayed with you forever?”

“Of course it would.”

Father stroked my hair, his voice unwavering.

“And there is one more thing you must remember. Never forgive someone too easily after they have deliberately hurt you. Once a person chooses to wound you the first time, there will be a second and a third. Never give anyone another chance to drive the same blade into you.”

I looked toward Vito, who was still standing motionless in the rain.

My heart did not stir.

I nodded softly.

“All right. I’ll listen to you. I will never forgive him.”

The rain continued falling.

Outside, Vito remained in the same place, trapped in endless regret.

I had already walked out of the past filled with lies and pain.

For the rest of my life, I would stay beside my father and live the quiet, peaceful life that finally belonged to me.
