“Your back was soaked. A little clumsy, but very kind.”

“That moment moved me.”

I remembered.

One evening, I’d noticed a loose manhole cover on the sidewalk.

I called the city to report it, but they wouldn’t come right away.

I couldn’t stand there forever, so I found a clumsy solution—

I picked up rocks and placed them around it to warn pedestrians.

Knox continued. “The moment you added me as Fallen Feather, I knew it was you.”

“You left your phone on the table while hanging laundry-I saw it.”

“That’s why I accepted your request.”

“I used to live in the family villa. When I found out you worked at that bank, I moved to the

apartment near your office.”

So it was all planned.

Not coincidence.

Rain started falling outside.

I got up to close the window.

When I turned, Knox was behind me.

He pulled me into his arms. “Baby, I’m staying tonight. Okay?”

I nodded.

The kiss came down hard-like the rain.

After a long while, I pulled back, dazed.

“I’m going to shower.”

He took my hand. “Together?”

My cheeks burned.

I squeezed back. “Okay.”

Steam filled the bathroom.

The glass door blurred.

When we came out, the rain hadn’t stopped.

He carried me to the couch and held the water to my lips.

The rain grew heavier, beating against the bedroom windows like a lullaby.

Wind drifted in from the kitchen, stirring the roses on the island counter-

their scent filling every corner.

The next morning, the pink roses on the terrace had bloomed to full.

The pots were filled with rainwater.

I was still half-asleep when I felt Knox stir.

He laced his fingers through mine.

“Baby, you’re not leaving me, are you?”

I was too tired to move.

“We’ve barely started dating-and you’re already asking that?”

He pulled me closer. “Move in with me. Or I move in here.”

“Twenty-four-seven. No separation.”

My face went warm.

“Isn’t that too fast?”

Too fast? Knox has been holding back forever.

He hid his yandere side so he wouldn’t scare her off.

Now that he’s got her, he wants every second with her.

And honestly? Chloe’s into it.

“Okay.” I nudged his abs with my elbow, ears burning.

“You’re too close. I can’t breathe.”

He pressed closer, just to tease.

His voice was low against my ear. “You don’t like it?”

I smiled and kissed him.
