I Saw Our Remaining Meetings Dropped From 31441 To 9 Chapter 10

I rolled my eyes and grabbed Miles’s hand, ready to leave.

“Rowan Hale, I dare you to walk away.”

Now he was threatening people. Miles would never.

I heard urgent footsteps charging after us. Clutching the flowers in one hand, I pulled Miles with

the other and ran.

The wind wrapped us in the scent of blossoms. Our clasped hands went damp and warm from

nerves. I couldn’t hear anything else—just my soaring heartbeat and the smile lifting my mouth.

When I couldn’t hear Carter anymore, I knew Jenna had held him up. I turned my head and met Miles’s eyes, bright and blazing.

“I’m not like him.”

“Miles, did we just basically elope?”

We said it at the same time, then both froze. I realized what just happened and burst out laughing.

His ears went crimson. He stammered for a solid moment before he could even speak.

“Yeah.”

“Rowan, I don’t want to be the same as Carter.”

“I looked up how to do this right. The guides say a confession should be proper confirm the girl’s feelings, have flowers.”

“I wasn’t planning to confess today. There’s nowhere to buy flowers inside an amusement park, so

I went and got some.”

He said all that, then added softly, “It’s probably still not proper enough, but I don’t want you to put

me in the same box as him.”

“Rowan, I like you. Could you like me too, just a little?”

When I just stared, Miles seemed to panic and kept going.

“I memorized the Boyfriend Code too. ‘When Rowan goes out-follow. When Rowan gives an order -obey. When Rowan’s wrong-support her blindly…””

My jaw dropped. “How do you even know that?”

Miles’s face flushed deeper. “When Carter complained about it in the dorm… I secretly memorized

it.”

All the things Carter found annoying, Miles treasured and quietly learned by heart like an idiot.

I couldn’t hold it in. I crouched down laughing, tears almost spilling.

Miles stood there, completely lost. I laughed so hard my stomach hurt. How could my future husband be this cute?

When I caught my breath, I stood up and swung his hand.

“I don’t hold hands with people I don’t like.”

He processed that. His lips pressed together, then curled up without permission.

“So… are we together now?”

“No.”

Before I met him, I didn’t know I had this sadistic streak. Watching the light dim in his eyes,

leaned in.

“You’re not just my boyfriend. You’re my future husband—got it?”

Thinking back to the first time I saw him, I said it with a grin.

Miles was clearly rocked again. His pupils quaked, the tips of his ears burning red.

A long pause later, his voice came out hoarse, like he’d just found it.

“Got it.”

Miles walked me to my front door. I turned and saw Carter standing there, his face dark.

I knew he’d be waiting.
