He Paid Me To Strip So I Smashed His Head Instead Chapter 21

My consciousness faded. Blurry images swirled-an endless, repeating cycle.

No matter how twisted the path, the ending always froze in a cramped Queens studio.

A frail, pale girl curled on the bed, motionless. I leaned closer. Saw her face. It was me.

A flood of memories crashed into my brain.

I was dazed.

So, this was Serena Sterling’s tenth life.

And the first time the me from ten years ago had traveled back.

The first nine had all failed. No one ever believed Serena. Once, she held a hospital report, but the

male leads didn’t even glance.

“Serena, stop pulling these stunts.”

“Don’t act pitiful.”

“If you die, it’s none of my business.”

The final scene was always the same, Serena dying alone in that tiny apartment, filled with endless

loneliness and regret.

No one believed her.

No one saved her.

She was the rival love interest. Death was her destiny.

In the last cycle, the Serena from ten years ago had come to save her future self.

Begging her to reach out and grab her own falling hand.

Good thing I caught her this time.

When the discarded first love regains the Creator’s favor, even a death sentence must step aside.

The surgery went smoothly.

I woke up after a day.

In the ward, Xavier Thorne and Lucas Reed sat far apart, worlds between them.

Chloe Summers was by my bedside, staring without blinking.

Seeing me wake, she hid her worried expression and looked down at me with her nose in the air.

I was speechless.

“Chloe, isn’t holding your head up tiring?”

“Can you lower it a bit? I want to see you.”

Chloe’s face turned red, then she shyly lowered her head to look at me.

“Your surgery was a success.”

“Typical. A blight lives for a thousand years.”

“Hmph.”

I gave her a hurt look, lowering my eyes sadly. “You all still hate me, don’t you?”

Chloe sputtered, then rolled her eyes. “Stop acting like a victim. You’re the worst.”

I wiped the pain off my face and grinned. “Not as good as you. Your tea ceremony skills are impeccable.”

She glared, then looked at me seriously. “Seriously, though.

“What do you plan to do after you recover?” She pretended to be casual. “I opened a studio. We’re

short-handed.”

I didn’t bite. “I’m going to travel vlog around the world.”

Chloe sputtered again. “Hey! Serena!”

“Hm?”

I looked at her innocently.

Chloe’s face turned red as she cursed me, then stormed out.

The ward went quiet.

The two statues didn’t know what they were doing.

Just sitting there, not on their phones, not doing anything.

A minute later, Ethan walked in. After his usual check-up, his expression visibly relaxed. He gave a few instructions, then hurried out.

Xavier and Lucas were in a contest to see who could stay silent longer.

I ignored them. I was tired. My eyes closed, and I fell asleep again.
