I did not know whether Ethan had tried to find me.

Soon after we boarded, the plane took off.

It was my first time flying.

After we passed through the thick white clouds, the sky outside the window turned a brilliant blue.

The view was beautiful.

“What’s so interesting about it?” Lucas asked dismissively.

Despite what he said, he did not tell me to lower the window shade.

Instead, he asked whether I wanted to try the meal on the plane.

“It’s terrible too.”

I turned toward him with a smile.

“Lucas?”

“What?”

“Thank you.”

Lucas froze for two seconds.

I watched his ears turn red.

“Are you blushing?”

“Shut up!”

He raised his voice to cut me off, then threw a blanket over my head.

“Go to sleep! We were up half the night, so how do you still have this much energy?”

“I already told you I used to work in a factory. That job took a lot of stamina!”

Wrapped in the blanket, I smiled at him.

“I’m serious, Lucas. Thank you. Even if we stop speaking someday, I’ll always remember that you

helped me.”

“Aren’t you afraid I’ll fly you overseas and sell your organs?”

“Not at all.”

I had never been to that coastal city before.

But with Lucas beside me, I was not afraid at all.

I wanted to travel with him and see more places and different ways of life.

And I hoped that one day, I would finally be able to support myself and live independently, without relying on anyone else.
