From Unwanted To Dominator: Her Comeback! Chapter 05

Chapter 5 I Never Belonged in That House

I never got the chance to follow through on my wish to “not want Mom anymore”-because they threw me away first.

When I was 12, Dad’s business collapsed.

The house was sold to pay off debts. We had to move.

At first, the idea of moving didn’t really hit me.

Not until Mom sat me down and said flatly, “The new place only has two bedrooms. You’ll go live with Grandpa back in the old house.”

That’s when it became real.

My voice came out small, trembling. “Are you… abandoning me?”

Mom’s face tightened instantly. “Annie, did you even listen to what I just said? We’re broke. The rental is tiny. Jasmine likes her own room-she can’t share with you. Haven’t I told you a hundred times? You’re supposed to meet her needs, not make things harder! So just… be good and go stay with Grandpa.”

Before, I would’ve swallowed every word, buried my feelings, and nodded like a quiet ghost.

But this time-something snapped.

“Can’t we rent a different place?” I asked, voice cracking. “I don’t need much… just a little corner. A closet,

even.”

“Absolutely not!” Mom shot back. “Your sister’s already sacrificing enough by living in a smaller space. I won’t let her suffer more!”

“Then… what about me?” My eyes burned, tears blurring my vision. “Don’t I deserve to not suffer either?”

That’s when she broke.

“You deserve?” She laughed-a sharp, brittle sound. “Your very existence was a mistake! Don’t think just because you’re young, I owe you love! Anything that belongs to your sister? Not a single thing is yours to

take!”

“But… we’re both your daughters!” My voice cracked like thin glass. “Why can’t you love me too? Is it because I’m not good enough?”

I was obedient, always ranked first in my grade, and tried my hardest to be the “good kid.”

All I wanted was her love.

I never asked for as much as she gave Jasmine-just a little piece of it.

“Hearts aren’t fair,” she said coldly. “Even if you’re smarter, quieter, ‘better’-I love her more. That’s just how it is, Annie. Get used to it.”

I was 12 years old.

And those words didn’t just hurt-they carved a hollow space inside me that would never fill again.

In that moment, I finally understood:

I never belonged in that house.

No matter how hard I tried, no matter how perfectly I behaved…

I would always be the child who wasn’t wanted.

The accident. The burden. The one who should never have been born.
